The Jewish Democratic Council of America reacted on Tuesday to the fact that officials from the Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist movements were not invited to a discussion at the White House with key Administration officials on pertinent issues impacting the community.
Its clear the Trump White House invited a subset of the Jewish community and intentionally excluded others, Halie Soifer, the director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, said in an email to JTA.
As with everything this president does, this meeting appears to be defined by narrow political calculation as opposed to genuine outreach to the Jewish community, added Soifer.
According to JTA, others groups not invited to Tuesdays meeting included the Anti-Defamation League, J Street, the Israel Policy Forum, and The Simon Wiesenthal Center.
On Tuesday, April 16, the White House will host more than 80 Jewish non-profit leaders, business leaders, and Rabbis, a White House official told JTA, when asked about the omission of the groups. This is part of our regular ongoing engagement with various faith-community and business leaders.

How many times did Obama invite Jerry Falwell Jr. to the White House?
Narrow is the target area, wide is the miss
Why didn’t Trump invite you to the White House? Probably because you’re a leftists posing as a religious Jew.
So he left out the groups who ignore scripture and restrain Israel.
JIMOs are like RINOs. Both have seriously mental issues...called LIB LOVE.
“So he left out the groups who ignore scripture and restrain Israel.”
Pretty much. But you can always count on radical leftists to try to obfuscate the truth of what really happened.
The F-Word people. All they do is call everyone else the F-Word.
Not interested.
many of the “reform J spokespersons” are self-appointed and... worse... have little genuine understanding of Jewish/Biblical religious or moral teachings
I would invite them as citizens, yes, but I would not invite them as “representatives” of much at all, and certainly not as representing anything having to do with Jewish faith or moral values
It sounds like PDJT “gets it” .. and is on a good path, imho
He’s just a bitter clinger.
I went to a funeral service some years ago for a fairly prominent physicist whom I knew since childhood.
He was Jewish, but on a personal level stridently atheist, to the point of being somewhat offensive on occasion.
At the funeral, they had a rabbi who recited prayers from the Torah. Each time he got to a mention of “God” or “the Lord,” he paused as he mentally said the word but blocked himself from saying them out loud.
I must say he was a brilliant guy, and single, penetrating question he asked me when I was in fifth grade set me on my course in life, which I’ve pursued for more than fifty years.
I asked one of his close friends about it at the reception, and he said that’s the way Dr. ***** said he wanted it.
The Council speaks with the voice of Anti-Trump. They are not to be tolerated.
...much less any real grass root support in any community. They’re a donor list. Period.
“How many times did Obama invite Jerry Falwell Jr. to the White House?”
How many times did Obama invite Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House and insult him?
At least once and that was ONE TOO MANY!
Do you mean when he called him chicken s@#$, or the several times he refused to appear with him in public? Or how about when the VP Biden didn’t show up for his own state dinner, because he demanded Hawaiian pork as the main dish, and compared the new construction announced in Jerusalem to Nazis looking for Liebensraum, even as he said that ‘we’ are trying to find a ‘final solution’ for Jerusalem, as if it was up to the US and not the Jewish State. But J Street was welcomed at the WH then.
That's right...... the exact same response for not being invited.
Jews are like 2% of the population. How many Jewish groups do you want the president to invite?
Easy boy...easy...we are both on the same side here...
PDJT is apparently a very smart/discerning person....
at least, he seems to appraise people quite accurately for what they are (and are not)
