Pro-crime policies work. For criminals and their enablers.

Entire cities and areas become unlivable wastelands where only criminals and welfare recipients thrive, and the only businesses are illegal or government funded. Here's what's coming to Dallas County courtesy of Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzo.

Dallas County's new district attorney announced his office will no longer prosecute "theft of necessary items" up to $750.

Finally theft has been legalized for someone other than the government.

The announcement drew an immediate reaction from small business owners who are worried that word of the policy will encourage shoplifting.

Maybe the career criminals and the usual suspects, but the local kids don’t really need to know they get a free pass for any activity under $750

Is something like this were published where I lived I’d be considering the call to a real estate agent. Perhaps I’m overreacting

Great second job. Rob less than $750 on any given day, and you stay free, to do it again, and again. Best part...you don’t have to pay taxes on what you steal.

If you get a gang of 20 come to your small store 3 times in one day, you’re bankrupt.

Doesn’t seem like an overreaction. This is an announced intent to abdicate the basic function of government. If government isn’t going to protect your rights, why does it exist in the first place?

Lived in Dallas since 1965.

Looks like I am headed OUT, they can have the illegals, theives, proglibs, queers and crazy homeless talking to street signs all they want.

Looking for some sane area not too far from here, I still have family in the area.

“I understand and appreciate that in Texas, the elected District Attorney can control which cases his office prosecutes and those offenses he chooses not to prosecute. Police officers, however, have to follow state law,” [DeSoto Police Chief Joseph] Costa said in a written statement. “I have instructed DeSoto Police Officers to continue to make arrests as necessary to protect our citizens and to help prevent crime, regardless of the initiatives implemented by the District Attorney.”

The only way to stop them is if Its a crime in progress and you fear for your life.
Just be sure not to shoot them in the back.

Moynihan's (1993) argument, put forward in his article, "Defining Deviancy Down," was summarized in its subtitle, "How We've Become Accustomed To Alarming Levels Of Crime And Destructive Behavior." Moynihan puts forward the thesis that, "...over the past generation, the amount of deviant behavior in American [End page 100] society has increased beyond the levels the community can 'afford to recognize' and that, accordingly, we have been redefining deviancy so as to exempt much conduct previously stigmatized, and also quietly raising the 'normal' level in categories where behavior is now abnormal by any earlier standard.
