Notre Dame cathedral has caught fire, according to the Parisian fire service and eyewitnesses.
Footage posted online shows a large fire engulfing the upper part of the cathedral, with the flames licking around its two bell towers.
A major operation was under way, the fire department added, while a city hall spokesman said on Twitter that the area was being cleared.
Officials in Paris said the fire could be linked to renovation works being carried out at the cathedral.
It comes after France's Saint Sulpice church , used in the filming of Dan Brown’s ‘Da Vinci Code’ thriller, caught fire in March.

Yep, I'd been watching for multiple streams of water hitting the fire from the first, and almost nothing. By now most combustible material has probably burned. The smoke is a small fraction of what it was an hour ago, and that one fire hose didn't reduce it that much.
Of course, I think they already know who did this..this is Jihad plain and simple..but the french knew they were snakes before they let them in and they allowed them in anyway

there is no doubt in my mind at all. The cathedral was clearly targeted by muslims.
Like the 9/11 "renovations" at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon...
Fortunately, brave Americans put down one of the "renovation" crews in Pennsylvania like the rabid dogs that they are.

And if an investigation does prove moslems did it, would they ever admit it or just say... “Some people did something...”.
Sad we’ve reached a point in history where we cannot even believe the news media or politicians on anything anymore.

I think Notre Dame rubble will be cleared away and plans for a huge mosque to replace it will be drawn up.
