Manning’s sentence was commuted by Obama.

Given that precedent, doesn’t seem worth pursuing, logically.

“Manning’s sentence was commuted by Obama.

For participating in the same crime as Assange, Bradley Manning was eligible for the death penalty, and received a 35 year sentence.

Such serious crimes are worth pursuing.

Essentially, they revealed as much as they could about the American effort in the war on terror. Not just abuses, but every detailed source and method, and every agent working with America that they could reveal, across the board.

Of course, some of those working on behalf of America were killed, once revealed.

Manning was not pardoned by Obama. His sentence was commuted. Big difference.

Manning’s sentence was commuted by Obama.

According to the indictment, the information about the conspiracy comes primarily from Manning. I wonder what sort of deal there was? Did Manning trade Assange for an early out?

Exactly my thought. Assange should get no less treatment under that precedent.

Obviously I expect an effort to squeeze him and attempt to get him to compose about a conspiracy with Roger Stone / Trump 2016.

*** Manning’s sentence was commuted by Obama. ***

And yet Manning sits in a jail cell for refusing to dish to a grand jury.
