LONDON (AP) Edward Snowden, the former security contractor who leaked classified information about U.S. surveillance programs, says the arrest of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is a blow to media freedom.
"Images of Ecuador's ambassador inviting the UK's secret police into the embassy to drag a publisher of--like it or not--award-winning journalism out of the building are going to end up in the history books," Snowden said in a tweet. "Assange's critics may cheer, but this is a dark moment for press freedom." Snowden was charged by the United States in 2013 of violating the countrys espionage act. He was granted asylum by Russia that year and the asylum has been extended until at least 2020.

Good point.
Sure, you can make insinuations that he must have given something to the Chinese or Russians, but they’re still just insinuations. Either there is actual evidence that he gave them something or there isn’t.
“NYT would be a more honorable violation.”
Why exactly? Is the NYT some upstanding institution with no questionable motives or agenda? Is there some list of “honorable” press associations one can leak to, and who creates this list?
“So you support Hellary huh? She did nothing wrong then!”
Do you think that supporting the right of someone to be a “whistleblower” when the government is violating the law necessitates also approving of every mishandling of classified information?
He may well be culpable in aiding a ‘hack’ of pentagon systems.
What I was referring to is the fact that ‘traitor’ has a very distinct meaning. With him being a citizen of another country, it does not apply to him in regards to anything he may have done against the U.S.
Whatever?
Aldrich Ames by his account was a whistleblower too!
Whatever?
Aldrich Ames by his account was a whistleblower too!
We don’t need to go by “his account” though, do we? There are objective facts that are known about both of these people, and they are different situations. Ames was a double agent working for a foreign government, whereas Snowden released information to the press, and we have no actual evidence he ever worked for a foreign government.
Now if you have some other evidence that shows Snowden did work for a foreign government, besides insinuations, then by all means let everyone know.
So you are denying he spent time in Russia & Hong Kong?
Are you saying it is a crime, or actual evidence of a crime, to spend time in Russia and Hong Kong?
Quick, someone arrest Bernie Sanders, he spent his honeymoon in Russia!
You're right.. that's why I posted this earlier today.
This entire scenario seems to be the "Left - Deep State's" INITIAL response to Barr's comment of "there WAS spying" during his testimony of yesterday is Assange's arrest today.
The "Left - Deep State's" intentions go far beyond prosecution. His arrest on behalf of justice is a facade.
Assange has control of information that will pour a MILLION GALLONS of GASOLINE on the flames of the fire that Barr is lighting.
Stand-by for some upsetting events and information.
It does seems like something has been set in motion.
I agree. And the Greg Craig arrest. . . . I had to reinstate the “Zerometer” on my Twi8tter thread.
Interesting: Posobiec says that Bruce Ohr and Comey were the two who lied to Assange which led to his releasing Vault 7 which led to Pompeo going after him:

**************
Fake news will go into overdrive. The Left has no regard for the truth and will start spreading all manner of lies, half-truths and fabrications about Assange’s activities. In other words, just like with the false Russia collusion narrative the propaganda machine will claim and/or insinuate things that are not true just to attack Trump.
This is their modus operandi and Assange’s arrest is a golden opportunity too tempting for them not to exploit. It will spawn hundreds of fake articles based on unproven suppositions totally lacking in substantiation. Its what they do. Its who they are.
The Left is on the ropes (Barr could expose them big time).
They are desperate for a distraction and Assange’s arrest provides a very convenient boogie man for them to assign all kinds of nefarious accusation to. There will be an avalache of lies coming out of the fake news in short order.
