Please, regulate me!
That was Facebook founder Mark Zuckerbergs message to Congress recently.
Lawmakers often tell me we have too much power over speech, and frankly I agree, he wrote in an op-ed. (W)e shouldnt make so many important decisions on our own.
It sounds so self-sacrificing.
But give me a break. Big companies use regulation to their advantage.
His smaller competitors cant afford the squads of compliance officers Facebook employs.
You, as a company, welcome regulation? Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., asked Zuckerberg during a congressional hearing.
If its the right regulation, then yes, replied the CEO.
Would you work with us in terms of what regulations you think are necessary in your industry?
Absolutely, replied Zuckerberg.
Zuckerbergs no dope. He sees which way the wind is blowing. He issued his plea to be regulated after receiving months of criticism from politicians.
If he cooperates early and enthusiastically, Facebook is likely to get to work with the regulators to shape the rules.
This is sad for two reasons.

It’s called “Dig me a deep mote.”
Don't be eeeeefil..! Ha ha ha ha..!!
Regulate the Internet and make Zuckerberg Supreme Leader because it was his Idea ,LOL
Most FR Posts would qualify as hate speech to this jerk. He wants Congress to give him a legal basis for Cleaning Up the Right Side of the House at Facebook
This will not turn out well.
Would you work with us in terms of what regulations you think are necessary in your industry?
Absolutely, replied Zuckerberg.

Of course!!!
Whenever you get to the top of the heap, you’ve got no where else to go but down, and you know it. Competitive advantage is worshiped in this realm, and you will use every avenue in politics to protect your position, including sponsoring laws and regulation that will stifle any upstarts.
“Absolutely” would be my answer too.
Mr. Zuckerberg, textbook example. In the chapter titled "Duh".
Mr. ZuckerFox put on his bib and got out his fork and knife and said "Absolutely! I would be more then happy to help political dumbasses like yourself".
