Smallville' actress Allison Mack pleads guilty ahead of NXIVM sex cult trial

Smallville actress Allison Mack will plead guilty to charges related to her involvement with a controversial self-help group described as having a secret society of “masters” and sexually subservient “slaves” within it, PEOPLE confirms.
A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York tells PEOPLE that Mack was scheduled to appear in court at 1130 a.m. to plead guilty.
The spokesman says she is pleading guilty to racketeering conspiracy and racketeering.
Prosecutors have accused her of recruiting sex slaves for Keith Raniere, who co-founded the controversial self-help group Nxivm and its subgroup, DOS, described as an all-female secret society in which women allegedly were forced to be sexually subservient to Raniere.

That’s exactly what I keep scratching my head about too. I see a bunch of rich New York women and Hollywood types doing a sex based version of Amway.
I have yet to hear who was forced into anything. This whole thing is odd.
I read the Wiki page on the group and the charges and forgive me but I still don’t see a crime.
I see a whole boatload of stupid people but I’m not seeing a crime.
And they have not tried making themselves a religion? If Scientology can do it, so can these types.
One aspect of this, is that Mack won’t have to be tied down in a case where every little detail will eek out over days and weeks... (or more)

Maybe one day that will break the same way, but this one seems far more sex-oriented and Scientology seems more like a religious cult. Doesn’t make Scientology any better but a prosecutor would need a lot of resources to handle that one.
Blackmail, underage sex, human trafficking (selling the star-struck girls to others for sex), racketeering, etc.
