Sen. Bernie Sanders has long fought to restore voting rights for felons who’ve completed their prison sentences.
Now the presidential candidate wants to go a big step further – arguing that those currently behind bars should be able to vote too.
Asked on the campaign trail in Muscatine, Iowa on Saturday if those imprisoned should have the right to vote, the independent senator from Vermont who’s making his second straight bid for the Democratic nomination answered: "I think that is absolutely the direction we should go.”
"In my state, what we do is separate. You’re paying a price, you committed a crime, you’re in jail. That's bad," Sanders explained. "But you’re still living in American society and you have a right to vote. I believe in that, yes, I do.”

Invalid assumption. They do NOT HAVE the right to vote.
The left wants a maximum of 14 years in prison for ANY crime.
I have no problem restoring all of a person's Constitutional rights after they have fully served their sentence, including probation after release.
That includes the Second Amendment as well.
But while in prison? Your actions forfeited a lot of your rights while you are incarcerated.
Only if they vote Democrat Socialist.
In some places this means that thugs could effectively seize control of local or county government.

I think he is arguing for All Candidates for Public Office to undergo mandatory drug and alcohol screening every 3 days.
Would make their ballot harvesting efforts easier. I really don’t have a problem with voting rights being restored after sentences, and paroles/probation are satisfactorily completed. As long as ALL the constitutional rights are restored. But while a person is incarcerated, NO.
Because he knows they’re all demonrats.
Odd that almost all the convicted felons in prison are Dems.
Must show the character and morality of that voting bloc is in sync with the Dem Party.

Well, look at it this way, they use the conduct of criminals and mentally ill persons (as opposed to that of the law abiding) to dictate their ideas on firearms laws. So this is not a stretch in letting them vote as well.
Of course they should be able to vote.....for Queen of the cellblock.
