President Trump announced Sunday afternoon that Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen "will be leaving her position" after 16 months in the job.
Trump also announced that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Kevin McAleenan will replace Nielsen as acting secretary, tweeting: "I have confidence that Kevin will do a great job!"

Nielsen's departure is the latest staffing shakeup in the department, which was founded to combat terrorism after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.
On Friday, Trump confirmed he had withdrawn the nomination of acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Ron Vitiello to become the permanent head of the agency, telling reporters that "Ron’s a good man, but we’re going in a tougher direction, we want to go in a tougher direction."

Not an excuse but just for the record I am Jewish and study Jewish Bible commentaries every day (99% of the days, anyway). I am a strict teetotaler and never drank more than 1-2 beers in a month or two before declaring I will stop around 1980. So if the choices are drunk or sexist pig then I'm the pig.
Why? My late mother was an alcoholic and abused my sister and myself. Was a defiant and repeated drunk driver let off by lenient judges. She hated men and proudly declared about my childhood "I broke his spirit. It took me a while but I broke his spirit." She wanted to insure she could control me without a husband after divorce when I was a child. Anything masculine ="You're just like your father."

Quite honestly it doesn’t matter who they put in there. Catch and release is still occurring daily and will continue until the foreseeable future. Sanctuary cities are running unchecked and unpunished. Courts are overturning every EO that has anything to do with the border, captured illegal aliens, or enacting any anti illegal immigration policies. Employers are still hiring illegal aliens driving down lower skilled wages. Mexico and South American countries are still receiving billions annually in remittances and billions in annual financial aid from us the tax payers. Replacing Nielsen is akin to beating the dog because the cat pissed on the floor. Our country is on the brink

Everyone has McAleenan’s appointment dead wrong. When an immigrant child died while in CBP Custody while CBP was transporting the child to the hospital. Dem heads exploded and immediately called for his resignation. Mr. McAleenan was absolutely pissed.
No longer is CBP diverting resources from across the country to ease the flow of trade at the border. Instead, he is diverting people from trade lanes to assist with Immigrant Processing. This has the Trade howling but tough cookies. Unlike the past when CBP went out of its way to keep things running as smooth as possible, McAleenan now wants the Trade (and the country) to feel the result of the border crush.
One last thing, McAleenan joined CBP as a result of 9/11 and became the first internal person ever named to head the agency. He’s a good one.
