Trump seems to have a real blind spot in the people he hires.
They’re all terrific until they’re not.

Whenever a Trump administration official resigns or gets fired, many conservatives say things like “good riddance to this loser”. We saw that with Anthony Scaramucci, Rex Tillerson, James Mattis, etc. Now, I know that folks come and go in DC. But still you gotta wonder. Because Trump appointed all those folks in the first place.
Just who is giving Trump personnel advice?
Well, he's not a DC insider - so he probably doesn't know many of these people from experience.
He can only go by their resume and a good word from an actual DC insider. For what that's worth.
Worse than those before him?
or in the past was incompetence rewarded with promotion
Yeah, he should hire people who are not terrific.
/said nobody

Trump hired too much eye candy.
The women he hired that are not eye candy are superstars. Kellyanne, Sarah Sanders,....

I think that they are good people, but he just doesn’t tolerate under-performing for very long. One bad quarter is good enough to change people out - times change, and you want to have people matched to the current needs.
It is not all personal.
It is just a different culture than DC is used to, where people don’t fired like they do in the private sector.
