I suspect the people of Venezuela would welcome it.

They need to get themselves out of it, or the lessons won’t be learned, if they’re learned at all.

The lesson is that socialism doesn’t work and leaders are only as corrupt as you allow them to be.

If we save them, they’ll hate us for it (see France, WWII), and vote themselves right back into socialism.

I wonder why so many people are nationalist thinking here yet they don’t believe in Venezuela’s sovereignty enough to let them sort their problems out.
There are conflicting opinions on what are the reasons of Venezuela’s downturn and the opinion that they made their bed by voting socialist has merits.
That’s not anyone’s else business. If they like freedom enough they’d solve it themselves and if they don’t they deserve any of this.

I suspect the people of Venezuela would welcome it.

Maybe. But that’s not a reason to do it.

*** I suspect the people of Venezuela would welcome it. ***

Juan Guaidó's supporters are whiter than a Minnesota country club. They are not the average Venezuelan.

Well...

If it keeps Russia and China out, it may be a good idea.

That’s a place we’re not going to stay.

The legitimate government needs to be allowed to come to power.

It will be a lot less of a headache if that takes place.

Where was that ever decided?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
During the GHW Bush administration.
It’s the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).
It’s a necessary step to steal the country from the citizens to subsume the US to the UN to get to the New World Order.
It’s a deeply indoctrinated Pavlovian response.
Let’s not overlook the fact the Vens voted for socialism when they voted for Hugo.
The legitimate government needs to be allowed to come to power.
Maybe, but not by us. Trump was elected by promising no more George Bush foreign policy of intervening abroad and neglecting Americans
China is already making inroads into South America.
We don’t need massive unrest down there.
How would you like to see China colonize South America?
Ummm - just means we are saying the obvious...all options are on the table for everything....not too mention that stories such as this tend to also get responses from others that may have their own interests in the area which helps clarify what we need to do...of course, it also gets all the concern trolls worked up, but that’s what they seem to exist for anyway.
I thought Trump said no more foreign interventions and nation-building ? I thought he said we’re going to rebuild America?
I thought that too.
He didn't tell us about Jared Kushner, though.
“Who in their ‘right mind’, thinks President Trump is listening to this BS.”
I am appalled by the level of ignorance spewed by some phoney “Conservatives” on FR.
Trump won by running as an American acknowledging objective reality!
We should let the people of venezuela suffer just like the people of cuba have suffered since 1959. They chose stupid and emotional people to lead them, let them suffer under what those leaders have wrought.I
For those who did not pick the socialist idiot leaders, it is time to pick up a gun.
Now that China and Russia are putting troops in Venezuela to bolster Maduro sadly it may force Trump’s hand.
