In this country, there is/was an attempt to take over the country/culture/legal system, not the government per se.

They don’t control the government...yet.

Until they control the government (particularly the military), they are vulnerable.

We disagree. The ongoing slow coup continues. They do control the government.

They do not control the parts of the government they will need to start killing U.S. citizens.
