President Donald Trump says he's pulling the nomination of his pick to lead U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement... Longtime border official (and the Acting Director) Ron Vitiello appeared to be cruising toward confirmation... The president on Friday confirmed he had pulled the nomination, even as he called Vitiello a "good man." "But we're going in a tougher direction. We want to go in a tougher direction," he said.

He also said it would be about another two years to get 400 miles of wall built, which would about do it.
None of this is what he campaigned on. :(
Although the border was not completely closed, hundreds of Officers were re-deployed from several Ports of Entry (notably in El Paso), to handle the crush of illegals between the Ports of Entry.
That resulted in big backlogs at those Ports of Entry - hours in line (up to 8 hour waits in El Paso). It was enough pressure to get a rise out of Mexico.
The huge number of ILLEGALS invading America’s southern border will destroy the country just as Trump leaves office. Remember, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want....”
They were gushing today about a couple of miles of wall that cut illegal crossings by about half in a lot of cases. And of course the reality is that once illegals get a foot on our soil our current system makes us release them into our country often never to catch up with them again.
Those other countries with real walls get 99% reductions in those crossing. I like their solutions better.
It is simply impossible to “immediately stop all illegal traffic”. Mexico started doing something finally, so Trump did act on his threat so far. To call this a U-turn is inane.
Go to Hell Concern Troll!
He should nominate a black man. It would be awesome to see how they’d react. Of course he/she would be qualified.
He was probably told about the Tariff option, which won’t do that much damage to our own economy and have the MSM showing it every night!
“Go to Hell Concern Troll!”
You sound like typical leftist being challenged with a different point of view. Instead of offering counterpoints based on facts, the emotional name calling commences. Of course name calling requires zero intellect.
I don’t know what’s happened to him, but this is not the Trump that campaigned to be tough on illegal immigration.
If I had been those board patrol members sitting there, I would’ve thrown his campaign promises right back into his face.
You are honestly trolling though. Sure Trump made a mistake, he should have thought it through. However, he has done a thousand things right and is trying to do what he legally can. Closing the border would have backfired, no matter how hard you and I wanted it done.
Adding tariffs, slowing the legal crossings to a standstill (like yesterday), tougher enforcement, denying foreign aid, hits Mexico where it hurts. They’ll stop the traffic if he keeps turning up the screws. And besides, he is the only one trying. Relax, recognize the good and stop trying to start fights.
You have been a Freeper since 2006 and you put up a chicken little type post like that?...are you OK ? Off your meds a lil’ bit?
He’s been neutered. I assume it is threat of prosecution of Jared and Ivanka.
You sound like a typical troll. Your offer a “point of view” that is patently absurd and when not taken seriously you are trying to “challenge” your opponent with personal attacks.
Trolls are out in force today.
Show proof of anything different on Mexicos side of the border? Has the daily count dropped?
“Hes been neutered.”
Oh come on. He is one man, and look at all he is up against.
He drives relentlessly, and takes big risks. Give him some credit.
We are going to get a lot of really good wall this year.
You weren’t listening closely enough. He said Mexico has one year to clean up the drug cartels or he will put tarrifs on cars. That is seperate from stopping the caravans which Mexico must do now.
was I hallucinating?
Often. Your often stated criticisms of POTUS are amusing.
Trump said Mexico have started enforcement on their southern border. Time will tell. You cannot seriously expect immediate results on our southern border and you cannot fault Trump for not implementing his threats when the threats just seem to be working. The point is to solve the problem not close the border.
