If he is elected, it would be a big SPIKE in the gerbil industry.

Buttgig, if you cannot lead a city, you cannot lead this nation.

Anyone from Northern Indiana can tell you that South Bend is a failed rust belt city. The minority population is 25%+ and growing. The Four Winds Indian Casino is the biggest revenue generator in the city. Most people think of Norte Dame as part of South Bend. Norte Dame has kept South Bend from completely sinking.

I lived in South Bend in 1986-87. North Notre Dame Ave. was seeing an influx of gibsmedats. Break-ins were common (except for the house I lived in; they left us alone). The big factories had closed.

I went through there in 1999. By then, the local Aldi’s had closed, as well as the local bars. Only the laundromat was still there. The big employer is ND and the major hospital. Sad.

This dude is Martin O’Malley without the extra four years of a failed governorship on top of his failed mayorship.

My father came from South Bend, way back when it was Studebaker City. I went there with him a couple of times to see his old stomping grounds; I was last there about twenty years ago.

One of my clearest memories, that said a lot about the city’s condition, was of the Studebaker National Museum in its original downtown home, near the old New York Central station. Great collection, in (I think) a former car dealership...completely surrounded by cyclone fence topped with razor wire. Needless to say, it’s since moved elsewhere....

Pete Buttigieg’s father, the late Joseph Buttigieg, was an admirer and scholar of Antonio Gramsci, one of Marxism’s leading theoreticians and proponents of communism.

Pete is a real “Red Diaper Baby”, just like Wash. Post writer Carl Bernstein is a RDB, among others in politics and the media.

Hoping to get enough examples to write a column about the role of RDBabies in politics and the media.

Anyone wanting to start a list here, have at it. All documented information is welcomes.

Senator Moynihan warned of that problem in 1965. It’s more that half a century later, the problem is much worse, and no one is talking about the root causes.

Moynihan was one of the last of the honest Dems. To bad he was a gun grabber.

We’re going up to Ft Wayne this summer. I was thinking of going to South Bend to check out the Studebaker Museum. I hear it’s the only thing worthwhile there.

Quote from 'Political Ponerology, A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes' (written in 1984, published in 2006, by Andrew M. Lobaczewski. A very scholarly book based on research by a group of underground psychiatrists and psychologists in the former Soviet Union into how totalitarian states are born. Psychopaths end up in control of such states.):

-----------------

...in totalitarian states (full-blown ‘pathocracies’, which are nations ruled by low-conscience pathological people who typically form governments that are corrupt, authoritarian, secretive, amoral, manipulative etc.) the 1% of psychopaths have risen to the top across all areas of society after a decades long natural biological sequence (much like a weakened body gets a chill, gets a bug, gets pneumonia and then gets pleurisy) that begins when a relatively privileged section of society refuses to face repressed truths about itself (e.g. that its privileges are due to exploitation, domination, discrimination, the exclusion of others or injustices at home or abroad). These repressed truths are blocked out through extreme egotism (superiority, entitlement, exceptionalism, contempt), twisted thinking (false logic, ignoring inconvenient facts, cleverly worded morality, blaming others) and extreme emotionalism (outrage, adulation, hair-trigger reactions to other people’s views, flag waving), this ‘hysteria’ gradually spreading across society and warping individuals’ view of reality, leading to slightly pathological individuals not being seen for what they really are. Slowly and steadily full-blown pathology becomes invisible to large sections of society and the actions and behaviors of zero or low-conscience pathological ‘leaders’ (lying, shamelessness, lack of remorse, lack of conscience, trivialization of misdeeds, scapegoating, carefully hidden amorality, convenient masks, manipulation) become normalized.

Towards the end of the sequence an extremely egotistical and pathological ‘spellbinder’ pouring out twisted logic, twisted morality and Big Lies becomes the ‘leader’. The spellbinder is typically a malignant narcissist, psychopath or individual with damage to the frontal lobes of the brain. If the nation doesn’t wake up then psychopaths work their way to the top, and end up controlling a widespread ‘nobility’ of 5% of extremely low-conscience and very pathological people and a ‘middle class’ of 12% of low-conscience and less pathological people - which is why all totalitarian states look the same behind their different ‘ideological masks’ and why democracies can only survive if their citizens are accurately educated about psychological matters (from ‘Political Ponerology’ by A. Lobaczewski, a clinical psychologist and member of an underground group of psychiatrists and psychologists in the former Soviet Union that studied how totalitarian states are born).

In ‘Totalitaria’ normal people lose almost everything, often including their lives. Pre-Totalitaria it’s therefore extremely wise to cool down emotions surrounding high-conflict ideologies and to focus instead on comprehending the nature and methods of the 20% of zero or low-conscience pathologicals, who include those with genetic deviations (e.g psychopaths), brain tissue damage (e.g. from viruses, medications, toxins, difficult births), physiological deviations and sometimes pathological parenting. Office schemers are probably in that list – observe and learn. Their activitities, scaled up, can be found in pathocracies.

The antidote to pathocracies is spreading accurate knowledge about zero or low-conscience pathological individuals and the tricks they get up to, as well as a long look in the national mirror.

It seems that Buttigieg is a miserable failure as the mayor of a small city of about 100,000 people.

Washington 'elites' (read white trash with money) don't care because 'they've got theirs'... What they want is someone in DC who will let THEM run the place while lining their pockets... and Buttigieg fits that bill. "Speeches" anyone?
