With a bully pulpit such as he’s got, I don’t think he’ll have trouble coming up with many more Diamonds and Silks, so to speak. He can speak to black culture too. There will be whiners, but the whiners will be far from being winners.
As for tradition, as G. K. Chesterton said, “Break the conventions, [but] keep the commandments.” Maybe the old Pence dog can still learn some new tricks.
That is also a concern of mine...President Trump was not a “professional politician”...
I don’t know of any conservatives who are not politicians that we could get to take over and continue what President trump has began or tried to begin....
There is no "next after Trump". Trump is going to have to get it all done during the time he's got.
I think Trump is a one-shot deal. The establishment will take extra precautions to ensure that they are never blindsided by another Trump again. At least through the established parties. Also, Trump was one in a million. I think there are only a handful of people in the WORLD who could withstand what Trump went through during and after the 2016 election cycle.
If we are to get another "rogue" non-establishment president, it will probably have to come from a non-party candidate and that will be very tough to do. Even when Perot got 20% of the vote in 1992 as an independent, he came away with zero electoral votes and never came close to winning even one state.
It is interesting to see this independent bid by Howard Schultz develop. He seems to be serious about running and despite his liberal positions on many things, he sounds much more reasonable then many of the leftist marxists running for the Democratic nomination. He's quietly building out a national operation that has potential to suck a lot of votes away from the Democratic side.
I honestly think Pence is not the guy for 2024. In my opinion, Mike Pompeo has the goods to take over and continue the Trump doctrine especially with our foreign policy.
