Trump Pivots From Closing Southern Border to Threatening Mexican Auto Tariffs in 1 Year
NBC San Diego ^

On Thursday, Trump also threatened tariffs if Mexico doesn't halt the flow of illegal drugs across the border, saying he'd give the country "a one year warning" to comply.

"But if in a year from now drugs continue to pour in we're going to put tariffs on," he said, adding: "I don't play games."

Democrats? Initially, we had both the House and the Senate and it was just as bad as now.

———I think Trump is giving them a chance.——

The threat to close the border made in response to press reports of mexican officials making pro immigrant announcements has apparently been countered by a silent but official announcement that efforts, real efforts would be stepped up to stop immigrants from crossing Mexico

We’ll see.

Meanwhile, trust the President

Sounds to me like negotiations are in progress with Mexico. So far, I am not pleased, and hope that my hero is merely tacking, and will soon turn about and give Mexico a good bitch slapping.

Another media squirrel to chase. I am so tired of chasing squirrels. Do I really have to chase this one too?

And the MSM criticizes President Trump for changing stuff. He’s negotiating, something the market hating liberals can’t comprehend.

"But if in a year from now drugs continue to pour in we're going to put tariffs on," he said<

At the rate the invasion is proceeding, I am not certain we will recognize our country a year from now. People have no idea how bad things really are.

Oh well, at least Trump didn’t raise my taxes. Oh.....wait. He did.

Well, at least the Deep State traitors have been arrested. Errrrr......wait....

I think the real point is he has little support in the senate for closing the border and less in the House. He cannot go it alone.

I am beyond tired of my “government”. Just got back from Beaufort SC. The first articles of secession in 1860 were passed in the home two up from where we stayed. From there they went to Charlestown where they were ratified. SC was the first to do it. Love to see it happen again because this bunch is useless, more beholden to lobbyists and foreigners than to the citizens of the republic.

I’m still curious as to what depth there is possibly of civilian militia intervention, and when its going to happen.
Most importantly is how far its allowed.

Because it does seem apparent many are willing to act but not if they will be targeted like Waco by the FBI.

There aren’t words to express my disappointment. He starts blathering about big action, then pulls the plug. It’s becoming a pattern.

Send 50,000 troops to the border and loosen the ROE.

Its up to us to protect our borders, deport those here illegally, fix our asylum process, and track visa entry/exits. Blaming Mexico is a diversion.

I’m a fan of tariffs. I don’t see a downside to them. More jobs, better trade balance, money in coffers and you might get the country involved to act more sanely.

How many special forces units from enemy countries

That's old school thinking. Why would any of our adversaries bother with such crude and primitive methods of war involving direct kinetic action? That's what lead to the defeats of Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan and the USSR. Foolish, stupid and a guaranteed ways to lose.

However, what is currently occurring, and is quite evident from any perspective, is a long term strategy of allowing the US to defeat itself. By this, I mean wholesale population replacement, cultural substitution and institutional corruption. No civilization or empire in history has ever managed to defeat these corrosive effects; the USA is no exception.

How many people know that China has only 5 allowed religions? Buddhism, Taoism, Catholicism, Protestantism and Islam - however, all are regulated and proselytizing isn't permitted. That means the Chinese government doesn't kowtow to political correctness in the form of grievance classes advancing open borders and religious conflicts.

That being said, who here believes the Islamic (re) conquest of Europe, the US southern invasion and demographic alteration, and global encroachment (Africa, S America) aren't long term plays promoted and being advanced by China? (And to a lesser extent Russia?)

Think out 100 years. What will the global landscape look like? How will the US maintain a technological edge, control vital trade routes, resources & other critical lynch pins, and sustain our reserve currency status with an influx of immigrants who have an average IQ of 92? Answer: it cannot be done. Lose the reserve currency/petro dollar status and the nation implodes once we can longer run $multi-hundred billion budget deficits to finance the plethora of social programs.

So what does the smart operator do? Why, they plan for the long-term and lose the emotional baggage associated with loss. And periodically point out what's really goin' down.

As always, Trump operates on multiple levels simultaneously.

Yah.

Wednesday the USCOC visits him and he blinks.

Thursday, he backs off on closing the border. Instead in one year he will impose tariffs on autos manufactured in Mexico. That oughtta make 'em shake in their boots.

Friday, he publicly disses a deceased president's deceased wife as she was also a living president's deceased mother. Because of what she wrote in a memoir posthumously published. Instead of just ignoring the publication for the incredible lack of importance it truly had.

Yah. Multiple levels.

Maybe this is a good thing. I keep reading here and there, “but Trump can’t do it alone”. Maybe he’s just waiting for us to get off our butts. He can’t do it alone. Maybe this will force conservatives/the right to start taking grassroots action instead of waiting for Bid Daddy On High to do it. And that would mean joining your local GOP organization in order to get it back on the right track and make it fight for the people, put up decent candidates.

It seems to me that most local/state GOP organizations are rotten creepy, and unless we start taking control there, we have no representation. No feet no horse. Maybe this will get us off our butts.
