Texas is looking at the same thing.
Since 1996 I paid Texas sales tax for my in state internet sales.
Lots of states going this way. I sell on Etsy and these state are going after the facilitators which would Be Etsy and even if you sell 1.00 to these states tax will be charged.
If you have your own website they have a threshold in sales like a 100K in sales to the state before you would have to pay any tax.
By having a facilitator tax they get money on every sale. I no way sell 100k worth of stuff not even 10K a year but my customers are taxed and the facilitator(Etsy) charges it and sends it to the State.
Come on they just don’t have enough money in Sacramento don’t you know?
