To: a fool in paradise

Lots of states going this way. I sell on Etsy and these state are going after the facilitators which would Be Etsy and even if you sell 1.00 to these states tax will be charged.
If you have your own website they have a threshold in sales like a 100K in sales to the state before you would have to pay any tax.
By having a facilitator tax they get money on every sale. I no way sell 100k worth of stuff not even 10K a year but my customers are taxed and the facilitator(Etsy) charges it and sends it to the State.

This is I use my own custom shopping basket and credit card payment system that I wrote myself that goes directly to the Visa/MC and Amex processors.

DIY and you avoid all the ‘facilitator’ fees and state tax hits on small sales totals.

It’s worse in CA...you have to get the sales tax by location zip code
