Anyhow, those who still believe in Christ know that America is between a rock and a hard place. Either we have a widespread revival here making a semblance of the original constitutional vision viable again, or else we melt into barbarianism with its cold, and sporadically hot, wars.
I am not so sanguine on generic “conservatism” being able to win in and of itself in a secular sphere. De Tocqueville spoke of a country with the soul of a church. But that soul didn’t get here by means of laws ordering it to do so. It got here by people choosing to be part of it, choosing to say yes to God’s universal invitation.
