These creeps don’t have the “right” to behave this way on private property; they are expected to conform their behavior to the norms expected of a customer. Even on the streets and in other public places, there are limits to what they may and may not do, how they may act and not act. You have a right not to be harassed or intimidated/vilified, etc. Get management involved. They are very risk adverse - especially if it involves the possibility of being sued. Don’t be fooled by some smart a** clerk/duty manager trying to give you your money back as if that cancels you rights as a customer. They are a public accommodation and there are certain expectations that flow from that whether or not you have made a purchase.

So. in this case, you don’t have to reason with the jerk; just insist on your rights as a customer.

Ask the wait staff to summon the manager. Inform the manager that you are a paying customer; that you are trying to enjoy your purchase in peace without being disturbed; that the offending party is disturbing your enjoyment of your purchases with her loud, inciting speech and emotional gesturing; and that you would like management to take steps immediately to restore peace within the establishment so that you can again enjoy your purchases.

Also inform them that, if they fail to take prompt action to restore a peaceful environment, that the venue manager, the franchise owner, and in this case, the parent company can expect a high dollar lawsuit for the emotional damage that is being inflicted on you.

Let management manage. That’s what they are being paid for.
