The Electoral College has pros and cons.
The con is that it limits third parties.
Face it, the two-party system is the biggest crisis facing America.
Americans are tired of Republicrats.
The GOP is not worth shit.
If the EC is gone, you can potentially elect a conservative third party.
The EC is probably going to go soon. Millennials are not Democrats nor Republicans and they HATE both parties.
Get used to the EC going away soon.
Plus the slavery thing will be used against it.
Not in my lifetime.
Plus the slavery thing will be used against it.
Only if we have weak sisters like you on our side.
“Going Away Soon”? how so— since this requires a Constitutional Amendment. Not just ignoring the Constitution. This would have to be ratified by the States, even if initiated in a Congressional setting Amendment.
That is— if we are to follow the Constitution, as they are all sworn to do. They don’t— and there will be a reckoning they hadn’t counted on.
Nope.
The GOP is not worth shit.
Yep.
If the EC is gone, you can potentially elect a conservative third party.
And if we had some cheese we could have bread and cheese if we had any bread.
No country with powerful third parties has ever elected a "Conservative" party to power.
They occasionally elect coalitions but the end result is no better then what you have with a two party system. In fact it is worse because there is no way to impose party discipline on other parties that are loosely affiliated with you.
The two party system is actually the best. The problem is that we do not actually have a full two party system. We have one party and a half hearted party that is really only interested in lining their pockets.
