Votive candles? Whoa, buddy. It's always fun to watch proggies claim irony to cover their true beliefs.

Yes, plenty of weeping and wailing and ga-nashing of teeth at the dissolution of a belief system. "Our revels now have ended / these, our actors, were all spirits / and are melted into air, into thin air." Prospero had it right.

The real world does come a-knocking on even the stubbornest illusions, and the holders of these belief systems founder on their own extremes: feminism, White Supremacy, gender fluidity, socialism in its several manifestations, identitarian politics, social justice; all cheap waxen votive candles flickering in the cold wind of reality. Let the wind blow.

“Disappointed Fans of Mueller Rethink the Pedestal They Built for Him,” the New York Times gravely intones. In its piece, the paper quotes the host of a podcast, "Mueller, She Wrote", whose fans call themselves Muellerites, saying, “I’ve had to talk a couple people off the ledge.”

Why do these folks always sound like they're love sick 14 year olds?
