Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's political and social engineering has changed the way the average Turk identifies himself: Most Turks used to identify themselves as "Turks first." Now they identify themselves as "Muslims first" -- the way Erdoğan seemingly wanted them to.
Most recently, Erdoğan threatened his own citizens -- citizens who practice a different faith, of course -- Turkey's already dwindling Jewish community, now at around 16,000. "Do not provoke [us]," he said, before noting that he had not yet taken any action against Turkish Jews or their houses of worship.
If Erdoğan is curious to know on what course he is taking Turkey, he might check the official statistics on Turkey's huge brain drain.
Another round of Turkish elections, another wave of Israel-bashing at election rallies. This has become a pattern since 2009 and Turks have not shown any sign of frustration: They simply love it.
Blaming the man who brought Israel to public rallies is the easier thing to do, a kind of intellectual laziness. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been correct in thinking that his diplomatic wars with Israel, his more than undiplomatic language and outright anti-Zionism would work like a ballot box cash machine. It did.
A deeper look, should investigate why in the 1970/80s, when Turkey did not have full diplomatic relations with Israel, the name of that country or any politician there was never mentioned at Turkish election rallies. Why would the average Turkish voter, 3-4 decades ago, find the State of Israel totally irrelevant but today show up/cheer at every possible Israel-bashing election rally? How did Turkish politicians who in the mid-1990s spearheaded efforts to build an alliance with Israel, keep winning votes despite their pro-Israel policies? What took place to move the Turkish mindset to its present, deeply anti-Israeli point?

I do not know this author, but do know another author who writes for Gatestone Institute. Have posted excerpts for a number of their articles.
It is again local election time again in Turkey, that means Erdogan and his AKP Party are in full propaganda mode.
But on a deeper level, the Islamist (aka al Qaeda, ISIS, Muslim Brotherhood, Sultan Murat and other terrorists groups) now probably have a majority in government and the public in Turkey. Will that remain when the eventual economic calamity takes place? If such a calamity takes place will the public "get it"?
One of Erdogan's childhood fiends has openly stated that as a young man he carried a copy of Mein Khampf and was constantly reciting from it. Is that important? Watch this moving train wreck as it proceeds toward the cliff.
Erdogan is the closest thing to Hitler that Europe has had since WWII.
Erdogen has pretty much destroyed Turkeys chances of becoming a civilized country and Christians, jews, Armenians, kurds, Greeks and everyone else only survive by hiding their presence as much as possible. Its a crying shame - especially since Turkey looked like it was heading in a positive direction before this guy took over
I’ve spent time in Turkey, and now you can see why I think it is a nasty, bigoted, racist, backwards society mid evil culture.
There is nothing there I want to ever see or smell again.
Turkey has never been friendly toward Christians (Armenian, Syriac, Chaldean, Orthodox), Jews, Ezidi, Greeks, (more recently) Kurds.
Kemal put Muslim extremists in box when he took power, every time they got foothold the CHP (Kemalists) had a military coup and put them back in the box. I doubt they can put Erdogan “back in the box”. He will probably go when someone plants him.
Or when someone conquers Turkey.
Understood. These Islamic countries are inherently hostile and aggressively so. As history has so starkly taught
Yes, sir. I do agree.
And it is not by accident he is doing this. He has ambitions and he has Qatar money behind him. He “believes” he is destined to lead the Muslim against the Christians and Jews. Fatal Error.
It’s been tried before and the consequences are fatal.
Correct.
Thank you for that perspective. Not at all surprising. I’ve spoken with many military vets who have served in Turkey (most in Incirlik), all hated it.
If he keeps this up, the EU will finally welcome Turkey into full membership and with open arms.

It's been open for awhile. Ergodan has done wonders for Turkey.
Don’t need to read this. I just listen to three minutes of Owen Benjamin melting down about sodomite Jews and the NASA program.
Had to go look that one up. Have never heard of Owen Benjamin before.
Nutcase.
Jews? Are a real puzzle. All across the spectrum politically. I cannot fathom why there are US Jews who are “far left” after the National Socialist experience in Germany.
And Jewish people are very bright as a group.
He’s making about $60,000 a month selling his rhetoric. Alex Jones kicked him off infowars. I heard he was a comedian, took a look and was amazed he just screams about Jews for hours every single day while getting drunk in his back yard with his self promoting 147 IQ. People actually believe his shtick. He sounds just like a Middle Eastern tyrant
Thanks. I’ll pass on that nonsense.
