Latest Trump H-2B Increase Again Betrays American Workers

Today's decision increases the H-2B cap by "only" 30,000, rather than the full 67,000 Congress authorized, but this surge nonetheless increases the cap to 96,000. Not even under President Obama did H-2B visas rise to such high levels....President Trump continues to increase the number of H-2B guestworkers every time he has the opportunity. This is entirely his own administration's fault. He could, at any time, direct Secretary Nielsen to not increase the cap.

> If you are old and worried about low-level workers you have already missed the boat all on your own.

You sound like one of the sellouts. Enjoy your Indians and Mexicans. _They_ have many generations of freedom and good laws behind them and will hold the govt accountable, right?

I agree with you on the deficit front; we must control spending. Bigly.

The legal immigration question I don’t think I do; we are at near record low unemployment. If businesses need more workers, why should the gov’t disallow them to LEGALLY hire outside help? Tax revenues come into the coffers and more importantly the businesses don’t look to take their job sites outside the borders.

Just thinkin’. :)

Like I said Trump’s policies have added 170,000 thousand jobs per month to the economy. Wages are up and rising fastest at the lower end. Unemployment is near all time low. So 100k temporary work visas doesn’t bother me. We may even need them.

When I started in this business, the employer took the responsibility of fine tuning me for the job they hired me to do.

It’s not the governments responsibility to fine tune engineers for Corporate America’s needs this afternoon. The employer can setup up and provide the fine tuning.
