Exactly. The only reason for the government to have a list of privately owned firearms is for eventual confiscation. Do not for one minute believe any BS about fighting crime. What the {expletive} good is a list at fighting crime? A stolen firearm is still a stolen firearm whether it is on a list or not. No, the one and only reason the government wants a list of firearms is so they can come take them when (note when, not if) they deem it necessary. Registering your firearms is not "like" saying "sure, come and take my firearms whenever you want" it is in fact saying that exact thing.
