The Times of London published a sugary celebrity interview on March 21 titled "Barbra Streisand at 76: dog cloning, art collecting and being a grandma."
Talk about burying the lede.
Social-media accounts have been whirring in outrage since it was discovered that Streisand had demonstrated such extreme sympathy for the late Michael Jackson that she ran down the men accusing him of sexually abusing them as young children in the new documentary "Leaving Neverland."
Streisand dismisses Jackson's pedophilia thusly: "His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has.'' She even put the word "molested" in scare quotes. ''You can say 'molested,' but those children, as you heard say, they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children, so it didn't kill them.''
She added she found Jackson "very sweet, very childlike" when she met him, and ''I blame, I guess, the parents, who would allow their children to sleep with him."
For anyone who wondered how Hollywood could accept sexual assault on women and children in the entertainment industry for many decades, here is Exhibit A. She didn't deny the sexual abuse. She said they were "thrilled to be there."
Streisand half-walked away from these comments to The New York Times. ''The single most important role of being a parent is to protect their children,'' she said. ''It's clear that the parents of the two young men were also victimized and seduced by fame and fantasy.''
That wasn't good enough, so hours later, the full apology came. ''I am profoundly sorry for any pain or misunderstanding I caused by not choosing my words more carefully about Michael Jackson and his victims,'' she said in the second statement. ''I didn't mean to dismiss the trauma these boys experienced in any way,'' it continued. ''Like all survivors of sexual assault, they will have to carry this for the rest of their lives."
This being Hollywood, she tried to tell the accusers she had just slimed that "I truly respect and admire them for speaking their truth.'' There is not "your" truth and "my" truth. There's just truth, and that's especially important in sex-abuse cases.
She can apologize for what she "meant" said all day long. But she callously suggested that an adult superstar's "sexual needs" were more important than the children's trauma.
If you didn't hear much about Streisand's pedophile face-plant, you could blame the media. It happened over a weekend, and some outlets -- CBS, NPR, PBS, and even CNN and MSNBC -- somehow couldn't find it. The ones that did report it were slow, and only covered it after the apology. ABC only offered a brief. NBC had a full report on Sunday night. The Washington Post blogged it, but didn't put it in the actual newspaper.
The media do not leap to call out liberal hypocrites. This is the same Streisand who deeply loved the Clintons, but calls President Donald Trump the "Groper in Chief."
They want to maintain the compassionate aura around Barbra Streisand, the feminist legend and die-hard Democrat. But this interview should not be tossed in a memory hole. This echo should resonate. In our celebrity-obsessed culture, celebrities shouldn't feel entitled to exploit children or excuse that exploitation just because they're rich and famous ... and favor the "correct" politicians.
“...wonder if she succumbed to BJ Clinton when she stay in the Lincoln bedroom?”

I have always had a hard time understanding the adulation of Michael Jackson.
His looks, mannerisms, act, and voice just screamed out “sexual deviant” from the first time I saw him.
In addition, he seemed the essence of oikophobia.

He was a fantastic and hardworking entertainer. Who he had sex with is another issue.
Heres a witchs coven for you:
Barbara Streisand, Jane Fonda, Nancy Pelosi.
Why is Mel Brooks wearing a wig?
I learned a new word today. Thanks.

Every once in a while in their unguarded moments our betters tell us what they really believe.
And its horrifying.

Entertainment always has underlying cultural assumptions.
The Romans (and many societies) found bloody death entertaining.
No doubt that Michael Jackson was hard working. You do not rise to the top of any field by being a slouch.
But what values did his entertainment push/promote?
I watched/listened to very little of his work, but saw some, because the airwaves were saturated with it.
What I saw struck me as promoting the most base of human drives. Raw sexuality without responsibility.
I am open to correction here. I was not a fan, never attended one of his concerts, or purchased any of his work.
Perhaps fans can answer these questions:
In any of his work, does he ever build up, praise, or promote American society, the rule of law, or ordered liberty?
In any of his work, does he promote romantic love, commitment, family, children?
Sociopaths do not see other people as individuals who share rights and responsibilities.
They see them as resources to be used.
Since MJ satisfied his ‘sexual needs’ (as Babs put it) with little boys, it’s just fine with the msm and the left in general.
If he molsested girls, then all hell would break loose.
The hypocrisy of the left is beyond belief.
Why, yes he did. He wrote and performed a cute little song called PYT. “Pretty Young Thing.” It makes me cringe when I hear it come on the airwaves. I can’t believe anyone still plays that song.
True that.
“Streisand started her career as a prostitute.”
In real life?
Streisand did portray a prostitute in the movie “The Owl and the Pussycat” though.
Every now and then a celebrity will slip up and reveal a little bit of the real mindset of the entertainment industry. They are, generally, a degenerate lot who feel they are superior to the lowly masses, yet need to don a false mask of moral superiority.
She’s always been nuts.
Poor old thing couldn’t think of any other way to get some publicity. She’s fast becoming forgettable and unknown.
Before the modern era, the public viewed actors & actresses as being on a lower social scale then thieves & prostitutes. (Most actresses moonlighted as prostitutes!) Nothing as changed except the public’s attitude toward them!
Elsie? Very funny/cute quotes. Keep this up and I may even start to like you! :)
He was badly abused as a child as were his brothers by their freak of a father who didn’t work but profited from the Jackson Five. Music and pain were intertwined for Michael Jackson. I was a huge fan. It is clear that he was in many ways terrorized, unhappy, odd, couldn’t sleep, used and abused. He didn’t even like himself much, with the constant plastic surgery, etc. Emotional, gentle. Did he molest children? I don’t know. I think he definitely got some terrible legal advice to settle a case as opposed to fight it. It seemed to me that, if you listened to his lyrics (which I assume you didn’t) they were childishly innocent. You probably don’t have time, but if you looked into his life more, you could find out some of this stuff. Anyway, Michael Jackson was a fabulous entertainer with a good work ethic, frozen as the scared, abused kid, taken advantage of by managers, and hangers on from what I could tell.
As far as I can tell MJ’s growth was stopped at Thriller and never progressed after that.
Still doesn’t excuse being a child molester.
Her son is a homosexual, so she won’t become a grandma the normal way. Sick Hollyweirdos.
