Amen. What happened in 2016 is that voters finally quit buying the line that the gains were eventually going to trickle down to them.
If that continues long enough, people give-up on capitalism altogether and choose someone like Bernie or the Fake Indian to redistribute that wealth to them.

I'd love to see those graphs presented differently.
Show the compensation figures as they are, but show the productivity measured in terms of productivity per hour for the entire population, not productivity per hour for workers.
I suspect the gap between the productivity and the compensation is the price we're paying for an enormous class of permanently unproductive people.
