ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A Southwest plane that was on its way to be grounded had to make an emergency landing at the Orlando International Airport on Tuesday.
A Southwest Boeing 737 Max 8 took off from Orlando International Airport at 2:50 p.m on Tuesday. Airport officials said that it experienced a malfunction and had to return to Orlando for an emergency landing. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the plane experienced an engine problem.
Officials went on to say that there were only two passengers: a pilot and a co-pilot. The plane landed safely and the FAA is investigating.
The plane, Southwest Flight 8701, was being ferried to the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville, California to be grounded and stored, the FAA said. President Trump previously ordered that all Boeing 737 Max 8 and 9 aircrafts be grounded after one crashed in Nairobi, killing 157 people.
Six of those planes, including five Southwest planes, were grounded at the Orlando International Airport. Southwest says that they are committed to safety during this time. Southwest commented on the emergency landing as well. They stated that the Boeing 737 Max 8 will be moved to their Orlando maintenance facility for review.
Boeing doesn't make the engines, nor do they maintain the engines. Can't hang this one on them.
Does Bill Clinton provide your definition of 'primary'? Because it was problem with the Max which appeared early.

The MAX 8 and MAX 9 have new, more powerful and more efficient engines.
It’s starting to sound more like a curse than a single defect.
I blame Gremlins.
Sure, all airports have plenty of extra space and equipment to store many extra jetliners indefinitely.

Instead of version 12.1 they will need to update to version 12.2
Lovely!
Windows 10 updater onboard.
I wouldn’t doubt that, but this one is apparently engine issue.
How are any of these planes flying? I thought President Trump grounded them all.
That is the problem with our culture now. We substitute sensationalism for facts.
Its the same any time there is a serious incident or accident; the media goes into overdrive reporting every little daily event as if they are all related. This then leads to a period of the public believing that the whole aviation system is coming apart at the seams. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
Software by Microsoft Windows 10 updater
Or maybe EA/Bioware game “Anthem” coderz.
I was speculating.
Now I’m cracking wise.
Supposedly it’s an engine issue this time.
Rather expensive to be that, the engines cost upwards of $2billion to develop from what I just read.
The FAA can grant a waiver to relocate the planes.
Data, just before turning off the trim switches and going manual...
The apparent cause of the two recent crashes; apologies for not making that clear as I thought most would pick up what I was referring to the last several months.
Engine failure would involve CFM International who built those, not Boeing directly.
My recollection is that is the only engine available for the MAX, and was promoted as a major selling point.
Bottom line is that Boeing expected some type of competence from CFM International. Too bad Boeing neglected their own software. Now they may be stuck with an embarrassing lemon.
Nope, Adobe.
*Insert windows shutdown sounds.*
A relative worked in the aviation industry. It is a common practice to fly planes around with just skeleton crew when they have to be serviced. In this case, It sounds like they were trying to get all the 737 Max 8s to one location where they can be stored and eventually serviced, instead of trying to fund places to store these at a major airport they will move them to a facility designed to store/service them not flay pax.
