I don’t think Trump would have hired him for what was a defining moment in his presidency.
The mueller stuff was too big to keep an old friend out of pity or old times.
I think he is not as sharp as he was but everyone ages differently.

Agree. Another interesting subject. Trump is very familiar with the mafia. He even bought lots in Atlantic City directly from mob members who owned them, and negotiated with mob controlled unions to get things built there, in NYC, and elsewhere. That doesn’t make Trump “dirty.” It’s just the way things are. Trump has had to deal with the most ruthless people imaginable. However, even among the mob, there are certain rules, and a structure of does and don’ts. I think Trump may agree that the mob has more “honor” than the media and Washington DC.
