military exercises on Venezuelan soil that President Nicolas Maduro called a sign of strengthening relations. Two Russian air force planes landed in Venezuela's main airport on Saturday carrying a Russian defense official and nearly 100 troops, according to a local journalist, amid strengthening ties between Caracas and Moscow.
A flight-tracking website showed that two planes left from a Russian military airport bound for Caracas on Friday, and another flight-tracking site showed that one plane left Caracas on Sunday.
Reporter Javier Mayorca wrote on Twitter on Saturday that the first plane carried Vasily Tonkoshkurov, chief of staff of the ground forces, adding that the second was a cargo plane carrying 35 tonnes of material.

There were reports on Colombian news from Venezuelans that a lot of foreigners spoke arabic...but that cant be verified yet.
Russians better watch out. Nancy Pelosi might sweep down there and demand all the vodka for herself!
Thanks for the Bay of Pigs, JFK.
I don’t care much for Putin.
The rest is noise.
Maduro has his walking papers - signed by Vlad. Next stop is either Havana or Moscow. Let’s hope he leaves peacefully. I doubt Putin has such a death wish as to base Russian troops on our doorstep. He’d be begging for war - and it would not be conventional.
Pulsed my friend, have not heard anything yet. I looked on Twitter, all I could find that was not pure Maduro propaganda were these:

Maduro’s internet blackout stifles news of Venezuela crisis
So you have no issue with a Russian naval base, or other military presence, in our back yard?
Then there’s always the oil in Venezuela.
Chances are really really good that those 100 troops are Russian Special Operators (Spetsnaz).
Did they bring their own body bags?
Hope they brought some groceries with them as they will get hungry after a few days of the Maduro diet
Venezuela crisis: Why Russia has so much to lose
Moscow also has money at stake. It has sunk significant amounts into backing Nicolás Maduro, much of that in loans it stands to lose if he is forced from office.

Let’s hope so.
I want the dems to answer the question, If socialism is such a great system, why do Venezuelas leaders need to collide with Russia to keep it in place?
Russia wants to subvert the US of A and turn it into a communist/socialist country to benefit the New World Order, which is what Soros is doing with his little groups of thugs, like BLM and Antifa. And which Obama started when he promised to change America.
That's what I was thinking. One thing that was constant over the last two centuries, is that the US will not tolerate troops from a potential major-power adversary in the Americas.
Allowing a major adversary to establish a military beachhead where they can just drive to the US, creates a potential major threat. It was one of the premises of the original version of the movie "Red Dawn", where a communist coup in Mexico allows the Russians to use it as a staging area for invasion.
If only we had a southern border barrier of some type....
“” “” Wait until they get a load of operating in a tropical jungle. Right out of the box this is going to be pretty rough for Russians.”” “”
Not really. Generally they prefer hot climate. Russia itself is not mostly cold but extreme continental when it comes to climate. It means minus 50 in winter and plus 100 in summer.
Putin is not communist. Communist are not what they say they are. They are simply another Totalitarian State.
It makes no difference what they call themselves. The Communist and Socialist labels are an illusion for the useful idiots.
They are worse than Dictators, Dictators die.
Totalitarianism in all forms is EVIL.
Progressive, Socialist, Marxist, Fascist, Communist, Dictator, Islamist, **Bureaucrap** (aka Deep State)
ALL EVIL!
But, Freedom Works.
It’s not just the heat, there is the wet season, and it is absolutely miserable if you are not used to it. Let alone all the critters, mosquitoes the size of sparrows, snakes, insects, alligators, poisonous frogs, leeches, fish that will eat you, plants that will stab you, howler monkeys and birds who give away your position, etc. The jungle is just a nasty nasty place to operate if you are not indigenous and know it well.
