Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Thursday complimented a photographer for capturing her skin tone in the correct shade for her Time magazine photo shoot.
This is a small-big thing, but shout out to TIME and Collier Schorr for getting my skin tone right in this photo, the Latina lawmaker wrote on Twitter. Its the little things that make a big difference, a lot of people see + appreciate it.
Color photography has a long history of bias toward nonwhite skin tones.

They are obsessed with race and skin color.

Lot of her school pics look darker. Not sure if she's been bleaching or whatever.

They didn’t Zimmerman her?

Yeah, but he made her look bug-eyed and like she had big teeth. Oh. Wait.

Does this mean the photographer gets to go to heaven in the end?
I think she thinks so. I think her followers think so

At this particular time, I think it’s more about sucking up to the Time Magazine Group.

A major problem was always weddings between a white woman and a black man. By the time you printed down to have detail in the woman’s dress, the groom looked like charcoal. Print for the groom and everything else is washed out.
