For several years The Gateway Pundit has reported on the plight of Sgt. Derrick Miller who sits in prison for life in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Today we are pleased to announce that Sgt. Miller will soon be released from prison!
U.S. Army National Guardsman Sgt. Derrick Miller... from Hagerstown, Maryland, was convicted in July of 2011 for the pre-meditated murder of an Afghan man in 2010.
Sgt. Miller shot and killed an Afghan civilian following the civilian attempting to grab Sgt. Millers weapon during a period of intense questioning. The Afghan civilian was a suspected insurgent that was walking through Sgt. Millers platoon defensive perimeter observing their defensive positions....
Ever since Sgt. Derrick Miller was convicted, support groups such as United American Patriots (UAP.org) have been trying to have his conviction overturned, believing that "a bone was thrown" to the muslim locals who protested loudly that a suspected infiltrator on an American base in Afghanistan was killed by Sgt. Miller when the Afghan spy lunged for Sgt. Miller's gun. They believe Sgt. Miller has been a victim of the Obama administration's life-threatening Ruies of Engagement that held U.S. soliders to blame in any situation with the slightest ambiguity or politcized sensitivity, and sometimes, no gray area at all.
To their everlasting shame, the Democrat members of the Maryland legislature and the Congressional Black Caucus did absolutely nothing to help this man whom many believe was wrongfully accused, wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for life, while most of the other notorious Leavenworth sentences for similar incidents involving taqiyya have received the support of their state officials and their cases have been resolved.
Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas, a former JAG officer, became aware of the case recently and spoke on Sgt. Miller's behalf at two recent clemency hearings, as did his mother and other supporters. This clemency and reduction of sentence is an answer to many prayers!
Family and friends of Sgt. Miller in Hagerstown, Maryland, are looking forward to his homecoming in May, and there are tentative plans for a reception of some kind. More on that as I learn of it.
Tomorrow is what counts.
Now he’s got that.
I know with clemency there can be no wrongful imprisonment lawsuit.
I hope he hasn’t been damaged too much by the past 8 years.
This is great news! Thanks for sharing.
A travesty of justice that he was jailed in the first place!
Damn me but I fully believe that the prosecutor and judge in this case should be hanged for giving aid and comfort to the enemy by directly and purposely causing fear in our combatants in ordinary actions.
I hope you are wrong about that, but it's not my area of expertise. I do know that many volunteers including Rep. Gohmert worked very hard to get the best deal they could, and that many patriots have approached President Trump to appeal for a pardon.
I did hear that he has been offered some jobs, which is one of the huge hurdles for persons leaving prison. He will be able to live with his mother for the time being, and, importantly, to reconnect with his daughters.
PTL!
Wonderful news! He shouldn’t have been charged in the first place.
It all goes back to the Swamp under the last administration. Of all the so-called "Leavenworth Ten" soldiers who were sent to Leavenworth under similar islamist-appeasing circumstances, Derrick was the only African-American, and was the most harshly sentenced. It boggles the mind.
I'm hoping there are more steps his legal team can take. First, get free, get home, and hug his family.
I would guess he gets a GREAT job offer or a number of them.
I would bet he can write a book about his ordeal and it would be an interesting one and I would buy it.
I would guess life will open many roads to him now.
I am glad.
Good news bump!
Lets hope that Major Matt Golsteyn gets the same freedom he deserves........
Totally agree, first things first.
I don’t know what his attorney’s can do legally for him but I’d bet there are more than a few who’d be proud to have a true patriot on their staff.
Never, ever believe anything from Gateway Pundit. Just like this story they never tell you the facts, only their biased propaganda.
Can you tell at all what this guy is even accused of doing? He was convicted of PREMEDITATED murder. By definition that means he planned to kill someone sometime before he actually did it. To read the dirtbag liar Jim Hoft the victim was killed in a combat situation. This phony reporting should immediately put any person with a brain on alert that hoft is keeping from us some important facts. And you can put money those facts dont fit the Hoft narratives.
So,now I will google this guy and find out what the actual facts are.
It sure was. What was he supposed to have done? Let the man get his weapon and shoot him? You can be sure the man didn’t grab for the weapon just to admire it.
