The United States isn’t a “democracy.” Though every American should have learned this fact in high school civics class, the smart-set still like to ridicule people who point it out–such a cliché, and all.
Today, we see why the Left worked to convince Americans that majoritarianism was a profound moral good. And it’s not just that America is going through another silly debate about the suddenly inconvenient Electoral College; it’s that Democrats are increasingly comfortable attacking foundational ideas of American governance.
Most of the founders believed that a diffused democracy weakened the ability of politicians to scaremonger and rely on emotional appeals to take power. Most of them believed that proportional voting blunted the vagaries of the electorate and helped ensure national stability. Contemporary Democrats agree, which is why they want to scrap the system. So much for protecting norms.
Now that they believe they have the numbers, Democrats prefer a system where politicians who promise the most free stuff to the largest number of people win. Since they can’t admit it, we have to wrestle with preposterous arguments in favor of overturning the Electoral College. The most absurd is the notion that in a direct democracy every vote “counts.”

In 2016 progressives from both parties demanded Trump accept the outcome of the election.
Two years later, they still can’t accept the results. They haven’t even come to terms with the Founding Fathers!
Doing away with the electorial vote would also take away states rights which is why we have it to begin with.
Each state has the right to elect the president of their choosing.
Popular elections of a President would subject the entire country to the whims of the most corrupt states which harvest millions of phony “ballots”.
We should NEVER concede that Pres. Trump “lost” the popular vote. Who knows for sure, with big cities’ and leftist states’ massive fraud?
The DemocRATS want NY, CA, and IL to rule the Nation and the little states (all others) to pound sand.

when they lose- what do they do? Cheat, lie, steal. All their proposals are cheating- stack the courts, do away with electoral college, keep borders open so that illegals keep pouring in and flooding states with new democrat voters- allowing illegals to vote- allowing felons to vote because they know felons will vote democrat-
If they change the deal, then there is no more deal.
I do not need to be in a country with people such as these.
All they want is all of the power.

The Democratic National Committee should be de-listed as a political party in the U.S. for Un-American activities related to the Clintons and sponsoring Muslims as U.S. Representatives in Congress.
When the Articles of Confederation failed, the founders realized that a stronger Federal government was required. But, in order to win the support of the States who would be required to surrender power, they had to offer a government structure that contained checks and balanced. A grand compromise, that ensured that the essential sovereignty of these United States rested with the People. The original arrangement provided for direct election of the House of Representative. Every voter got to select their own Congressman. The Senate was elected by the State, usually by their Legislature, and thereby represented the interests of the various states. The President was elected by electors, who equaled the total of Representatives and Senators in each of the States. Small States had some protection and the large State had a bigger say in who would be the President.
This scheme worked well except that it turns out that the Senate was vulnerable to corruption through the State Legislatures in the form of rich railroad barons. To fix this problem, we crafted the 17th Amendment, and the balance has been broken ever since. The Democrat Party likes the outcome of the 17th Amendment and wants to destroy the rest of the structure of our Republic. If we can’t stop it, we will become a faux democracy like the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. The elites of the EU run those countries and the people have little say and even less power.
They don’t fear it, they hate it and the foundational principles on which it was created.
Sorry not happening, Dems. The 2nd Civil War will start if you think it will happen.
It is getting real close to military tribunal and machine gun time.
