A State Department official who was awaiting confirmation to be U.S. Ambassador to Albania communicated with the former British spy Christopher Steele and supplied information to a senior DOJ official after and before the 2016 presidential election.
Former State Department Deputy Assistant Secretary Kathleen Ann Kavalec’s nomination was withdrawn recently by President Trump, according to a Senior White House official who spoke to SaraACarter.com.
Kavalec was awaiting to be confirmed as Ambassador to Albania, but information surfaced that she had personally met and was in communication with Steele before and after the 2016 presidential election. Kavalec, a long time State Department employee, worked under Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. She was also a supporter of former President Obama and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, giving a small donation of $250 in 2012 to the Obama Victory Fund and another $250 to Clinton in 2016.

Camille Paglia summed it up in an interview. Trump is not a politician. He didn’t start in a lower office and gradually rise accumulating trusted supporters and advisors along the way. He’s been given a lot of bad recommendations. He’s dealing with a incompetent organization with millions of employees. Many of them can change regulations on a whim. Many of them can do something that Trump gets blamed for.

Any outsider going into the Washington cesspool would KNOW there are lots of hold-outs and hangers-on that are out to get him. He should have known that himself and should have made it an objective to get rid of his enemies, the same way Clinton fired all the U.S. Attorneys. I can’t buy that a seasoned CEO of a huge enterprise wouldn’t understand his enemies were all around and out to get him.

Any replacement that needs senate confirmation is more likely than not going to be stonewalled by the Democrats. Of course our ball less wonder RINO pubbies have allowed this to continue for two years. My problem with Trump is when he does nominate someone (especially at DOJ and FBI) he recruits from the swamp.
