The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled in favor of the Trump administration by deciding federal officials can detain immigrants at any time for possible deportation after they have served their time in the U.S. for other crimes.
The 5-4 decision reversed the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which said officials have to detain these immigrants immediately or they are exempt from ever being detained.
Justice Samuel Alito delivered the majority opinion for the court, and he was joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh. Justices Steven Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan dissented.

So, any citizen who commits a crime and goes free for a period of time before they are caught, is always held accountable. But the 9th Circuit ruled that illegals, unless they are immediately caught and indicted, can go without penalty for their crimes???

Sounds like John Roberts finally woke up on the “right” side of the bed for today’s decision, or maybe he finally got over his lefty ruling pouting streak from when Trump criticized him.
Sounds like on the release date from prison, ICE can be waiting at the gate to escort the illegal alien to the border to find his way home.
True. I’m no expert on this but it does seem that this gives POTUS a HUGE new tool in his arsenal. It could be a real game changer IMO.

That's the most ridiculous decision I've heard this year. How about natural born citizens? If the government doesn't apprehend a natural born citizen criminal immediately was that citizen criminal previously free to go? So stupid.
