SEOUL, March 18 (UPI) -- South Korea's unification minister said Monday North Korea activity at a missile launch site could be preparations for a "demolition."
Cho Myong-gyon, who will soon be replaced by Kim Yeon-cheol, the chief of a Seoul-run think tank, told the National Assembly's foreign affairs and unification committee opinion is divided among officials in the South whether North Korea is restarting missile-related activity or getting ready to destroy the site, Yonhap reported Monday.
(Maybe. Maybe not.)
UPI ping.

Not sure whether there is anything to it.
UPI however (may) be worth at least, paying attention to.
Maybe.
Kim could be walking a far more precarious tightrope than most of us can imagine. Between those in his own country who would rather maintain the old hardline agains the outside world, and the ones beyond North Korea's borders who likewise don't want Kim (and Trump) upsetting the apple cart, he's balancing a lot of spinning plates.
Part of me has genuine pity for the guy. He was born into a role he might not have necessarily wanted and who but God knows how much his previous actions have been pure evil and which have been stemming from what fate foisted upon him. If Kim genuinely wants to bring his people out of the dark ages, there is going to be plenty of opposition to him. Too much from within our own country, even.
UPI however (may) be worth at least, paying attention to.

was it a sister paper to the Washington Times? Owned by the UC Movement?
Wow. I had not realized that.
Evidently there is indeed apparently a connection.
Had no idea. Thanks.
out of pure ignorance (yes I tried to research and am more confused than ever)
one would think we had a spy satellite all over North Korea and we should know this stuff ?
If Kim had his act together, he would authorize the 101st Airborne (Air Mobile) Division to conduct a joint operation on the Chinese & Russian Border to secure it. This would signal to the rest of the world that a legal swing in foreign policy has been established.
Message to Kim and Trump - Make it So!
Or re-building it.
Or removing all of the pieces can be salvaged to build another one undercover.
Even our early Atlas and Thor IRBM/ICBM silos were underground. Yes, not as cheap nor as easy to work on than the open-air Cape Canaveral launch pads, but for the Nork’s, concealment is essential.
That far north, the ONLY way to get a satellite over North Korea is to launch into a polar orbit from Vandenberg AFB in California.
A polar orbit crosses the Korean Peninsula only 1 orbit in 12 (or so); so most of the time, it is looking at the Western Pacific, Date line, Pacific, Pacific, Pacific, Pacific, Pacific, Alaska, Canada-Canada-Canada-Canada, Greenland, west Atlantic, Iceland, east Atlantic, Europe, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Korea!, then back over the Pacific .....
RE: North Korea could be dismantling rocket launch pad
The news is so confusing.
Just a few days ago, Kim was threatening to relaunch his nuclear program, now this....
It’s just happening because North Korea had been anticipating a deal would be reached with the United States
thanks for that.
