I remember in the days following 9/11, lots of people were glad that Bush was in the White House instead of Al Gore. I don't know that it made any difference. Bush's "response" to a Muslim terrorist attack was to label Islam a "religion of peace", and to open the borders to invaders of all stripes. His nation-building attempts in the middle east were failures.
I already am convinced that McCain and Romney would have been no better than Obama. Bush was no better than Gore would have been. Actually, he may have been worse because we though he was one of us.
