To: Gay State Conservative

The situation is bad enough that even ‘safe seats’ are at risk. While it isn’t absolutely impossible the situation could turn around, at this point, the general consensus is that the election is lost and all that can be done is try to avoid an absolute landslide defeat.

Morrison’s personal seat (Electorate of Cook) is very safe, so I can’t really see him losing it, but his future as leader of the party, and therefore his chance of returning to office as Prime Minister is contingent on the size of the defeat. That’s a personal motivation.

But, yes, I think he is also trying to do what he believes is best for the party.

Then we should probably expect a rapid resumption of refugee/illegal alien boats heading for and gaining admittance to Australia once Labor takes over this spring or summer.
