Two Judges Confirmed This Week

Posted on 03/16/2019 3:42:37 AM PDT by cotton1706

This will be a weekly post.

Count is now 91 judges confirmed.

53 District Court judges

36 Circuit Court judges

2 Supreme Court justices

This week the 3rd Circuit flipped to majority republican-appointed!

There are currently six circuit court nominees pending: four for the 9th (CA) and two for the 2nd (NY). Liberal hegemony in the courts is shrinking. The three judge panels won't be totally liberal anymore.

More progress to come!

Mitch the McTurdle McConnell still has his finger in the Dike. When is he if ever going to go nuke and get these conservatives approved.

This is a sham, no other President has had this level of obstruction.

Good to know. Thanks. The progress is there but so slow.

Are we running above or below “replacement level” yet?

I mean, judges retiring, expiring, whatever - are we replacing them at the same rate that they are ‘retiring’ from the bench?

There are over 45 district court nominees who have passed the Judiciary Committee and waiting for Mitch to call the votes. Ridiculous!

Trump at #36, moves ahead of Reagan. There are 10 vacancies left, meaning he will likely come up short of the record of 51 held by Jesus Carter.

However, the Grim Reaper gets a vote.

How many appointments still waiting? 152, I think? His term is HALF OVER, and there are that many positions still not resolved. They need to start suing. This is an injustice to them, as well as to the nation.

Well, there’s a caveat with Carter, because the Congress created a number of new judgeships under Carter. So that skews the record somewhat, especially with just-created vacancies and an overwhelming democrat majority in the Senate.

So far, 91 Trump judges have been approved.

Since Jan 20 2018 (Trump’s inauguration) my count is that we’ve had 63 new vacancies.

Mitch needs to speed up the confirmation process.
