A subway poster advertising a commemorative book on Ruth Bader Ginsburg was defaced with anti-Semitic and other slurs.
The NYPD's hate crimes unit is investigating slur-ridden "DIE" graffiti scrawled on a Brooklyn subway station poster of Ruth Bader Ginsburg after a rider flagged it on Twitter Tuesday.
"What is going to be done about this?" the rider captioned in her tweet, tagging the mayor's office, the MTA and NYPD among other accounts. She said it was spotted at the Nassau Avenue G train stop.
"DIE" in all capital letters is scrawled in black marker across Ginsburg's forehead on the poster; "JEW" was written over her glasses, followed by another slur and a swastika over her mouth.
In a statement on Wednesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo denounced the graffiti.
"We will not stand by and allow hateful and discriminatory vandalism in New York," he said. "I have directed the New York State Police Hate Crimes Task Force to provide the NYPD with any resources needed to assist in the investigation."

“There is no room for hate in NYC.”
How do they feel about Trump? About the NRA? About people in New Jersey?
____________
..... the ugly deed. This really took no imagination.
If Trump was on the poster it would be hailed as artistic genius and forward creative expression of the Resistance. It would take its rightful place in the Museum of Modern Art next to Piss Christ.
_____________
LOL .... that's good.
My first reaction, before reading through to see the exact details of the defacement was, “Did they paint her hair orange?”
Sorry, but the digital recording system had a malfunction. All the camera footage except that crucial time is okay, though. Footage lost for the defacing incident. A shame./s
A Brooklyn subway.
80 percent don’t know who she is and the 20 that do wouldn’t write such nonsense.
This is laughable.
Yeah, that was done by a right winger. /s
We all know the political persuasion of the perp.
100% guaranteed.
No, make that 110% guaranteed. (Needed this correction to make it understandable to the economics major - Occasional Cortex.)
Funny.
Here’s an idea: they should have “accidentally” dropped and left behind a red MAGA cap. “At least we have one clue” say police./s
______________
LOL ........... that little woman is too smart for that.
:-)
This is just what those noble leftists were warning us about regarding Jussies prank. Now legit hate crime fakers arent taken seriously for even one minute.
I doubt an arrest is ever made. Anybody could have done this without being seen.
______________
........with the 2 Nigerian guys?
Since when is defacing a poster a hate crime?
Since when are supreme court justices pop icons that people make posters of?
LMAO ....
Even if this is true and was done by a conservative, does the NYPD go after any New Yorker who Tweets that Trump should die? Do they go after colleges and businesses that feature “erasing whiteness” programs?
Well, I for one am impressed on how the graffiti improved her looks. I can stare at that almost 10 secs before I feel myself turning to stone.
Did the NYPD ever investigate that theatre troupe who staged a mock assassination of Trump in their play a couple of years ago? Isn’t symbolically killing an actual person made up to look like Trump worse than defacing a poster?
Good point.
Remember all the fighting, threats and shouts of angry epithets against conservatives during the 2016 campaign?
Some were part of a Rally Against Hate or one under the name Love Trumps Hate on campuses. They also said to reporters that the overturned burning cars and screaming mobs were to show “We won’t allow speakers like Ben Shapiro to come on our campus and spew their hate.”
Same for cancelling speeches by Milo, Ann Coulter and even Donald J. Trump (which he sometimes cancelled for the good of his people who would be endangered.)
I imagine most authentic graffiti haters don't use comma's after 'die.' Come to think of it, ARE there any authentic graffiti haters?
