State Department compares China to Nazi Germany in human rights briefing

Print this article State Department officials compared China to Nazi Germany on Wednesday, saying the Communist nation "is in a league of its own when it comes to human rights violations."

"China intensified its campaign of detaining Muslim minority groups at record levels" last year, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a briefing on the release of the 2018 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices.

China has been brutally repressing Uighurs and other Muslims, forcing them into re-education camps reminiscent of Mao Zedong's Cultural Revolution. The regime has made a police state of the minorities' home of Xinjiang, a northwest region that's a significant trade corridor for Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative.

“You haven't seen things like this since the 1930s,” Ambassador Michael Kozak of State's Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor told reporters. “Of rounding up — some estimations are in the millions of people — and then putting them into camps, and torturing them, abusing them, and trying to basically erase their culture and their religion and so on from their DNA. It's just remarkably awful."

And it’s not just the Uighurs, Pompeo noted.

"The government also is increasing its persecution against Christians, Tibetans, and anyone who espouses different views from those of government or advocates change in government," he said. China "is in a league of its own when it comes to human rights violations."

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang told the Communist legislature at its annual meeting earlier this month that the regime must continue to "uphold the sinicization of religion in China."

Sam Brownback, Pompeo’s top lieutenant for religious liberty, was in Hong Kong and Taiwan that same week to rebuke Beijing's "war on faith." Chinese officials dismissed Brownback's criticism, with foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang saying Monday...

I usually invoke Godwin’s law, but in this case the analogy is close to the mark. The Chinese are imprisoning a substantial part of the population of Sinkiang in concentration camps for simply being ethnic Uighurs.

The world doesn’t have an idea about the Han Chinese.

Odd, I don’t see any references to Nazis, the
communists were doing much the same thing.
It is hard to tell them apart though so you
can see where the media made a mistake...

Note: Uighers are Muslims and at least the Chinese realize the world is at war with Islam. Can't say the same for the West.

Can you expand on that for the uninformed?

Wikipedia says Han Chinese are 19% of the world population and 90% of the population of China.

What else would be useful to know?

Ambassador Michael Kozak of State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor.

This position was established by... Obama.

The uproar over Chinese detention of Muslims is a Saudi driven narrative, with enormous piles of cash moving towards Senate Republicans.

The Chinese detention of Muslims is more focused on the fact that they rape women and girls that are considered infidels, and that they need to be re-educated to behave in a polite society. Though their seizure of aircraft and killing everyone on board, the capture of a train station in KuMing and killing everyone inside in the name of Mohammad.

I for one, am proud to say that I am not influenced by the Saudi bundles of cash. I am also proud to say, that I agree with China. And, if I had my way, I would do the exact same thing here in the United States.

[1] Any religion that hold core beliefs that counter societal organization needs to be outlawed.

[2] Members of such religion need to be trained to live and co-exist in society. If they cannot, they need to be isolated and monitored.

America was never set up as a “democracy” it was set up as a Republic along traditional cultural values.

State Dept.’s main beef with China is the “get your mind right” camps they house Uyghurs (Chinese Muslim radicals) in.

A term that originated on Usenet, Godwin’s Law states that as an online argument grows longer and more heated, it becomes increasingly likely that somebody will bring up Adolf Hitler or the Nazis. When such an event occurs, the person guilty of invoking Godwin’s Law has effectively forfieted the argument.

But...

The analogy is NOT at all close to the Mark.

Hitler had the Jews rounded up because he used them as scapegoats for his power grab.

The Chinese are rounding up Muslims because they just cannot live within Chinese society and need to be retrained to live in a polite society.

That’s what the Chinese government has done with evangelical and Catholic churches that refuse to allow their sermons to be dictated by the Communist Party.

China is at war with Biblical Christians. The Chicoms are essentially creating a communist catechism for Christian churches. They do not like the Western and Biblical influences.

The thing that differentiated Hitler from most rulers wasn’t that he (1) was a non-smoker, (2) was a vegetarian, (3) was a dog lover or (4) put people in detention camps. We had FDR put Japanese aliens in detention camps during WWII and the Brits certainly put all kinds of people in detention camps during the days when the sun never set on the empire. But nobody compares them to Hitler. Because what made Hitler different was that he designated entire classes of people incorrigibles who could not be made or even allowed to integrate into the Reich - they simply had to be killed. Traditional rulers always allowed for religious conversion or the swearing of fealty on a case-by-case basis. Hitler had to be different, and his choice probably played a key part in his ultimate destruction.

Expanding empires generally benefited from population gains because they gained soldiers and new talent as new lands were acquired. Hitler actually lost soldiers because populations who understood that they were to be exterminated fought to the death, given that there was no option of becoming just another class of German subject/citizen.

"China intensified its campaign of detaining Muslim minority groups at record levels"

Care less. Not our problem. America has its own problem with Muslims colonizing the U.S. and the two bints in Congress.

Well, at least the Chinese are smart enough to recognize when their being invaded.... Kinda like when they were smart enough to realize that narcotics was being used as a weapon against them by Great Britain... Sorta...

Chinese government surveillance and social credits determining one’s fate + their one-child policy make China as bad as the Nazis. Yet Russia, Syria, and Israel are hated by the left while China — and its money — are tolerated.

Can’t blame them for being tough on Muslims. Of course, any group is a threat to the Chinese rulers. That’s the problem. To insinuate that we are nice to Muslims and China should be to is on the stupid side.

Both bad in their own way. The left thinks they’re both good.
