The War on Catholic Judicial Appointments began in 2017 when Dianne Feinstein used her seat on the Senate Judiciary Committee to go after Judge Amy Coney Barrett, President Trumps nominee for a seat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit who hopefully soon will be a selection for the United States Supreme Court. In Feinsteins shockingly bigoted words barked at Judge Barrett: The dogma lives loudly within you. That was not enough for Sen. Feinstein, whose own lineage traces to maternal grandparents who abandoned Judaism for Russian Orthodox Christianity long before she ever was born. (Interesting, isnt it, how many Jews are not Jews?) Thus, Feinstein graduated from San Franciscos Convent of the Sacred Heart High School. In berating Judge Barretts devout faith, Feinstein rhetorically asked: Why is it that so many of us on this side have this very uncomfortable feeling? Why indeed. Problems with an unsympathetic teacher in eleventh grade? Politics in Californias one-party state?
Next came Brett M. Kavanaugh, another devout Catholic with an impeccable life record of personal dignity and character. The Senate Judiciary Committee attempted to destroy this extraordinary human being, husband, and father with a despicable mix of vile character assassination, insidiously implanted false memory, outright perjury, and clownish circus performances that shamed his accusers and that finally elicited one of the finest elocutions in American political history when Sen. Catholics aren’t Christians?..................
They are a subset of Christians...
So it is a valid statement. The second group expands to cover all Christians.
I know.
I see that phrase used all the time.
Once, on a local radio talk show, the host used that phrase, and a lady called in and went off on him.................
Guilty conscience.
Typical. Glad you are not our Judge.
Are "Evangelicals" Christians?
Are "Non-Denominationals" Christians?
Generally speaking, no. But there are always anomalies.
See ... it's easy. Anybody can play that game.
Isn’t the Catholic Church the mother church???And the other breakaway Christians are interpreters of their own idea of worship
Some people like to set themselves up as authorities on who is or is not Christian.
“Are Catholics Christian? Generally no, but there are anomalies”
Sure is a surprise to me that as a Catholic, I am not a Christian. It would also be a surprise to my parents and other ancestors who were Catholics. I wonder why our home always had a crucifix in the dining room along with picture of the Last Supper;- and crucifixes in every bedroom?
I'm certain I read that in a book somewhere.
First they came for Bork. Then for Clarence Thomas.
Let’s get some historical accuracy and honesty here.
Just look a few postings below yours and you will see that this thread has already brought out the rabid anti-catholic brigade here on FR.
They seem to not understand that the Catholic Church in its original form is the basis of ALL Christian sects.
Luther was a Roman Catholic until he removed himself from the Church. Pretty much every non-catholic Christian sect can trace its beginnings to Luther, but according to these people, Catholics aren’t Christians.
JMHO, YMMV
Under the United States Constitution, Article VI, Clause 3:
