Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday rejected what he called a culture of outrage from both Democrats and Republicans amid the fallout from recently resurfaced offensive comments he made about women and minorities years ago.
Carlson delivered a roughly seven-minute opening monologue on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" peppered with graphics that read "The Mob," "Crackdown on Dissent" and "Liberal Hypocrisy." While he did not reference any of his specific controversial comments, he doubled down on his initial refusal to apologize for them.
"Fox News is behind us, as they have been since the very first day," Carlson said. "Toughness is a rare quality in a TV network, and were grateful for that."
"Weve always apologized when were wrong, and we'll continue to do that," he added. "Thats what decent people do. They apologize. But we will never bow to the mob, ever, no matter what."
Carlson made a series of indirect references to the backlash his comments generated after the first batch was resurfaced Sunday by the left-leaning Media Matters. The Fox News host described the cycle of the "great American outrage machine," in which he said one comes under questioning from reporters, is forced to apologize and still faces criticism.
"But what if we stopped pretending for a minute?" Carlson asked. "What if we acknowledged whats actually going on?"

Glad he is fighting.
Well I doubt Judge Janine Pirro would agree with that sentiment. They (FOX) didn't hsve her back and they caved to Ilhan Omar very quickly.
Never apologize to a mob. Tucker is doing right.
It's war now, plain and simple. I stopped being nice to leftists and democrats long ago. They're out for blood, so we need to fight fire with fire and not appease or give in. CW draws nearer.
Actually, best part was where he called out the spineless GOP wing of the uniparty:
“Republicans in Washington do a fairly credible imitation of an opposition party,” he added. “But on the deepest level, its all a pose.”
“The mob demands a response. Very often, the first people calling for the destruction of that person are Republican leaders. You saw it with the Covington Catholic High School kids. You see it all the time. [House Minority Leader] Kevin McCarthy spends half his day telling Republican members not to criticize progressive orthodoxy. [Former Speaker] Paul Ryan did the same before him.”
Tucker was Awesome! I don’t usually watch Tv but I flipped it on tonight.
Tammy Bruce ws terrific as well.
Liberals are evil.
It's all about the Benjamins.
They are gunning for him because he is effective.
This is Alinsky in action.
Kevin McCarthy spends half his day telling Republican members not to criticize progressive orthodoxy. [Former Speaker] Paul Ryan did the same before him.

That’s because Bush League Republicans ARE progressives.
They just wear the R jerseys to fool people and block the citizens from having any choice.
Tucker and Trump are the only courageous people out there, now.
I will never desert either of them.
“Glad he is fighting.”
We’re all going to be fighting very soon.
Never in half a million years!
Their selective outrage is duly noted. The soapbox virtue signaling is getting stale.
I’ve always like Tucker, but I won’t watch his show. Now that FOX won’t back up Jeanine Pirro, I won’t watch FOX, that’s another situation.
As much as I like Tucker I/we got sick, and tired of his show, because of him allowing the leftist’s more time to espouse their torqued perspectives than our level of tolerance could accept. Same with Laura Ingraham, and Jeanine Pirro. There is a limit one can listen to stupid, so when we see stupid is on the show we leave.
Just look at this picture and think real hard.

By not watching Fox, you give the mob
a victory. Fox is NOT supposed to be TOTALLY pro-Trump. but they are the only MAJOR CABLE CHANNEL that doesn’t bash him 24/7!!
Correct, and as he said tonight, those few hours each night where Fox allows a diversity of opinion to be expressed is something the Left just cannot stand. They demand complete uniformity of thought, that’s why they attack Fox News hosts and their sponsors.
Whether you like Carlson or not is immaterial, this symbolizes the Left’s war on free speech, and anyone who calls himself a conservative belongs in the fight.
I turned Tucker off a while back for the same reasons you mentioned. I might check in on a thread like this about him, but I don’t miss the show.
