Colorado’s second case against Masterpiece Cakeshop and Jack Phillips crumbles
Fox News ^ | March 11,2019 | Kristen Waggoner

Posted on 03/11/2019 5:44:02 PM PDT by Hojczyk

Consistent with Jack’s past practices, his shop declined the requested gender-transition cake because it would have communicated that the status of being male or female can be chosen and changed based on perceptions and feelings—a message that conflicts with his religious beliefs. For that decision, the state prosecuted Jack a second time, announcing that he must create that cake or be punished.

In forging ahead with that new complaint, Colorado officials confirmed that they applied their laws in an arbitrary way, which the Supreme Court has already said that they cannot do. Worse yet, Colorado commissioners—functioning as Jack’s judge and jury—had the audacity to express their continued support for anti-religious comments that the Supreme Court condemned in Jack’s first case.

That’s right—after the Supreme Court’s ruling, two of the current commissioners said publicly that they agree with a former commissioner’s comments declaring that religious freedom is a “despicable piece of rhetoric.” Once our legal team secured audio recordings of those statements (and added those to the Twitter post of another commissioner calling Jack a “hater”), Colorado’s legal attack fell apart.

With that, the government’s most recent crusade against Jack ends, not with a bang, but a whimper. We’re hopeful that this signals an end to state-sponsored hostility toward religion in Colorado and a new era of tolerance and respect toward people of faith.

“We’re hopeful that this signals an end to state-sponsored hostility toward religion in Colorado and a new era of tolerance and respect toward people of faith.” This not over. The left never concedes, just looks for new ways to create havoc.

We’re hopeful that this signals an end to state-sponsored hostility toward religion in Colorado . . .

I believe a similar wish was expressed in Russia around 1920 and in China around 1950.

The State withdrew on the very day Colorado Governor Hickenlooper announced his run for the Dem nomination for President.

Coincidence?

I've already said very clearly, here and elsewhere, that I utterly oppose any general ban on abortion that would violently terrorize a rape victim from forcibly removing the rape fetus from her body. I'd also look deep askance on laws that force a women to bear to birth a brain-dead abomination.

Having said that — this infinitely nasty campaign of trying to violently terrorize a decent Christian into spitting on his own fundamental religious beliefs ticks me off immeasurably. I'm frankly, strongly tempted to purposefully, deliberately pick out a far-leftist bakery in my state and specifically order a cake inscribed with a simple, clear message: "Abortion is Murder" or perhaps "Leviticus 18:22". Upon the crawling leftist vermin inevitably refusing to bake the cake, I'd then sue their asses for every penny they had. I'd go far, far out of my way to point out at every possible opportunity that this coercive behavior was exactly what the crawling leftist vermin were pushing to be the law of the land across the nation.

*********, just ******* push me some more, leftist vermin.

There is a reason Hickenlooper wants decent people disarmed. Wannabe tyrants know that they have to crush normal people in order to gain the absolute power they demand, and this thug can't crush us if we can defend our God-given rights.

It is only time before the state Supreme Court is replaced.

The voters who will make that happen were educated in pagan academies aka socialist government schools.

Christians who willingly send their children to socialist government schools are assisting in the transition.

We can’t blame everything on California. Too easy. And they too were once Republican...converted in government schools.

People should ask liberals if fashion designers should be required by law to design clothes for Mrs. Trump.

He needs to sue them into oblivion. As my maternal grandmother would’ve said, they will rue the day they ever messed with this man.

" I'd then sue their asses for every penny they had."

Sue them until their grandchildren will be living under a bridge, trying to pay for it. I see no reason for you not to OWN the state of Colorado.

>> Californians have taken over [Colorado]...

Yup. Colorado Springs is doing a lot better than Denver or the People’s Republic of Boulder. Saw a bumper sticker a decade or so ago:

“At least the Texans went home after ski season”

I lived in Denver from 1979 to 1982, with the exception of Boulder, it was a pretty conservative state in those days.

The Left does not now believe in due process (not that it ever did). Fortunately, a majority of the Supreme Court still does.
