Exclusive: Pentagon Investigating Army Two-Star General for Retaliation Against Green Berets

The Pentagon inspector general is investigating allegations that a two-star Army general is retaliating against active-duty Green Beret instructors under his command who have voiced concerns over his lowering of standards for Green Beret candidates, three sources familiar with the matter told Breitbart News. The allegations involve Army Maj. Gen. Kurt Sonntag, who is commanding general of the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare School and Center (SWCS) where Green Berets are selected, trained, and graduated.

Breitbart News spoke with more than a half dozen current and former Green Beret instructors and several others in the Green Beret community, whose firsthand accounts paint an alarming picture of an Army general gone rogue, a hostile command climate where soldiers are fearful of retribution for speaking out, and a total breakdown of unit morale.

Long article but must reading for our military brothers and sisters and anyone interested in our military. This Major General is the promoted version of the Captain in Band of Brothers who was such an a$$ in the beginning. And the Army establishment does all it can to protect senior officers, even at the expense of top quality NCOs and lower ranking officers. An utter disgrace.

After you read the whole story....then you come to realize there’s at least 300 ill-qualified and wannabe-Green Berets out there...pretending to be actual Green Berets. You can look down the line in five to ten years....all of those guys should be brought back into the system, and forced to retake the course from scratch.

Was this related to some senior enlisted Green Berets supposedly resigning in protest after being ordered to pass women through the Q course for quota-fulfillment purposes?

The Generals are being held hostage.

Congress demands their social engineering agenda be implemented by the Armed Services, or their budgets are at risk.

Generals know these social agendas put the troops and mission at risk.

BUT...there is no excuse for ruining the careers of subordinates for shining light on the obvious.

Green Beret Captains are leaving the Army at an alarming rate. They see opportunities away from continuance deployments. So there is enormous pressure to graduate more.

Better yet, start issuing body bags as part of "782"(combat) gear. They'll get the hint.

Very possible. Deep in the article is a mention of a female staff (cadre) member.

Remember what happened to the Green Berets in Niger recently, decided to go out on their own, then left one of their own behind for the enemy to murder.

Guaranteed, one of those 300 will rise to command the SF school or a SF group one day.

I just pointed this situation out to the President , just in case he is not tracking on it . I predict Sontag will not be in his position much longer .

You must be looking in the mirror and seeing everything backwards. The Generals are far from being held hostage, under Obama’s reign of terror in the military, the Generals were only too willing to do his filthy dirty work to save their own careers. They have fought Trump all the way on his policies and should have been fired on day one of his administration. I am a retired Army Field Grade Officer and if I see large numbers of senior NCOs saying there is a problem, I go with them and believe there is a problem. I’m with the Sergeants on this one.

While in SEA 62-63, I worked with quite a few Green Berets. I had a lot of respect for them. Sorry to see things come t this

It seems there needs to be some way for an NCO or lower ranking officer to go through to the president when a problem like this exists. It’s almost impossible to know who to trust otherwise. Of course, with Obama the best way to go would be to just announce your retirement if that was possible.
