It’s because the Polar Bear community convened their climate scientists in the early 1960s to determine the extent of the coming warming period and how best to prepare and survive it.

The Inter-tundra panel, made up of 12 members (11 bears and a Harp’s seal) made one initial democratic rule in 1968.

Realizing they could have a tie vote, leading to more bureaucracy, they killed and ate the seal.

In the 60/70s the polar bears were more worried about freezing to death...they read those alarmist Time issues too.

Must have been the Russians and the “Cold War”....
