..... programs the White House calls useless and bloated including the popular Legal Services Corporation that uses federal money to provide free legal help to the poor that the administration believes is 'a local issue'....The White House said the program is “not an appropriate role for the federal government” because it “provides grant funding for legal assistance in local civil matters.”

Of 10 targeted programs, 4 would be eliminated, fulfilling a 2016 Trump campaign promise to kill wasteful agencies.

Many of programs and agencies have been sharply criticized for years for 'misusing American tax dollars', including for Netflix subscriptions. One, the Bureau of International Labor Affairs, helps unions in Colombia organize, said the White House.

An example:

The ‘Jobs Corps’ has been criticized as an ‘ineffective’ program that spends $35,000 per participant, more than some will make in their first job.... What’s more, a Labor Department ‘audit found criminal misconduct’ at the agency.

You understand this is the worst budget ever right?

He wants to spend 56 trillion over ten years...he wants to spend 4.75 for 2020...that is 800 billion more than when Obama left two years ago...plus he wants to give Ivanka 100 million to advance the left...

And the low lights are projected trillion dollar plus deficits beginning in 2019 and continuing through 2022.

He’s doing what he can, and slashing taxpayer costs elsewhere. We’ve never seen THAT before.

But, by all means, be unhappy! :)

Hopefully, along with tossing these worthless programs, the worthless bureaucrats that “run” these programs will also be tossed.

Way too many “government jobs” are jokes.

My favorite 50 cal was the one Bruce Willis bought, had modified and used in “The Jackal”.

Uh, That is crazy. Reagan cut spending his first year without control of either house...and trump is spending 800 billion more than Obama...MORE THAN OBAMA. 800 billion was the amount of the entire budget in 84...he is not doing what he can. Trump is a socialist.

Sure we have. Under Obama defense spending went down and domestic spending increased many times more than the defense cuts. Under Trump domestic spending is cut and defense spending goes up many times more than the projected domestic cuts. End result in both cases is taxpayer costs go up and not down.

And this doesn't even take the increases in entitlement spending that will occur into account.

You guys are right. We’re doomed. There’s no hope left for America. I was completely wrong about President Trump and won’t vote for him in 2020. May as well shoot ourselves right now and be done with it. :)

Oy!

Well maybe actually supporting conservatives would be a better option...Defending Trump against the Dems is one thing...but saying he is doing great amongst “conservatives” when he is a sellout socialist is a major problem.

He is a bigger spender than Obama. period.

Well personally I would prefer you not shoot yourself since I usually find your posts interesting and thought-provoking. But let's not pretend this is something that it is not. It is not a fiscally responsible budget since discretionary spending is going to increase and not decrease. It does nothing to address the issue with entitlement spending. It projects trillion dollar deficits from now through 2022. It assumes continued economic growth for the next 15 years at unrealistic rates in order to balance the budget. Which means that we would go over 25 without a recession. Nothing in all of that is realistic. This budget is a gimmick without a chance of becoming law.

$4 billion is one tenth of one percent of $4 trillion in annual federal expenses. I’m totally on board with cutting this stuff. I’m glad to see Trump finally propose actual cuts in unconstitutional spending.

But don’t think for an instant that this will solve our fiscal problems.

"$4 billion is one tenth of one percent of $4 trillion in annual federal expenses."

True, this cut just makes up for one of the many deliberate "rounding errors" in this year's budget.

Maybe you need some history lessons.

Reagan had a GOP that was behind him and Democrats who were willing to cross the aisle.

Trump has neither. Learn civics before you blame one person in a constitutional republic.

Here is a secret....don’t tell anyone....Trump does not have the support of the GOP nor the Democrats. He can only propose a budget that is dead on arrival because not even a loyal member of his party will submit Trump’s budget for consideration.

Pelosi and Optional-Cortex now own the budget process. They get to set the budget and turtle-girl McConnell gets to see if they debate it.

Most likely, we will get another CR (that is continuing resolution) because Democrats in the House are too busy trying to allow Putin the right to cast a ballot in 2020.

what a joke. The facts are Trumps wants to spend about a trillion more in 2020 than Obama’s last year in fiscal 17. This is his WISH list. HIS PRIORITIES. This has nothing to do with Congress at this stage. You need a major civics lesson on what a Presidential budget is and is not.

he is either weak or simply socialist. does not matter. He easily could have forced Ryan to at least frozen spending.
