Probably because he knew the book would burst into flame. You made me laugh. I keep two primary Bibles. One has thousands of notes. My study Bible. My other one is just for reading. I make no notes so my eyes aren't drawn to what I read & highlighted before.
If one blasphemes for writing in a bible, I am doomed!
