Pope Francis: Exploiting Workers Is a ‘Mortal Sin’
breitbart ^ | Thomas D Williams

Pope Francis railed against unjust employers Friday, saying it is hypocritical to go to church on Sunday and then exploit one’s workers.

“Many Christians, even Catholics, who say they are practicing Catholics exploit people! They exploit their workers!” the pope said during his daily homily at Mass in the Casa Santa Marta Friday.

They send them home at the beginning of summer to avoid having to pay benefits and then take them back again at the end, he explained.

“And so many of these call themselves Catholics. They go to Mass on Sundays and then they do this. This is a mortal sin!” he said.

“How many humiliate their workers!” he added.

This is not the first time that Francis has used strong language to condemn the exploitation of employees.

...

“’Woe to you who are rich.’ If one were to preach like this today, the headlines in the next day newspapers, would say: ‘That priest is a Communist!’” he said. “But poverty is at the center of the Gospel. Preaching about poverty is at the center of Jesus’ message: ‘Blessed are the poor’ is the first of the Beatitudes.”

This disaster of a Pope is more concerned with social engineering than with saving souls. He’s wrecking the Catholic Church.

The pope is more of a socialist than a Catholic. His ideas have worked so well in the 20th and 21st centuries in Argentina /s.

Ok Bergoglio, so does that apply to employers who knowingly hire illegals?

Isn’t that exploitation?

The Pope: ‘Blessed are the poor’ is the first of the Beatitudes.”

The Pope can't even get the Bible right. The first Beatitude is:

Blessed are the poor IN SPIRIT: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Even the Vulgate and Douay-Rheims Bible say "poor in spirit."

My wife is Black but she has never played the race card. But she noticed that her Catholic school principal glared at our inter-racial children. My wife’s students showed continual improvement in their test scores. But she refused to teach the Sex-Ed that Pope John Paul II said only parents can teach. So she was written up and not rehired. I notice how shabbily church workers in other denominations are treated. It seems the idea is, the holiness of the mission allows for the people in charge to shortchange their workers, not observing “the worker is worth his wages; you shall not muzzle the ox”. Never work for a church.

During my working life I have to say that I saw more employers stolen from, cheated, lied to and let down by irresponsible, lazy, dishonest employees than anything else. I think it’s a two-way street.

Take a look at how the average bishop or cardinal lives versus the average low level Catholic clergy.

You want exploitation.

A Church that makes billions not having to pay taxes.

This Pope, and many other liberals, seem blissfully unaware that workers (who are not slaves) CHOOSE to work where they are “exploited”, but only because the alternative is even worse. The solution is to not blame the “exploiters” but rather, to blame the government policies that force such a drastic choice.

I wonder where the Pope stands on priests sodomizing young boys.
