We discovered last year that Jeff Sessions had authorized U.S. Attorney John Huber to work with the Inspector Generals office, but we did not know exact dates and scope of the original Huber investigation. Thanks to a FOIA request, some details now fill in.
A left-leaning watchdog group, American Oversight, filed a FOIA request in 2017 looking for any communication that might show former AG Jeff Sessions giving instructions to DOJ officials to target Hillary Clinton for investigations.
Ironically, and perhaps serendipitously, the American Oversight FOIA request was submitted on November 22nd, 2017, the exact date Sessions chief-of-staff Matt Whitaker was sending a letter to Utah U.S. Attorney John Huber. Had they waited a day, what AO were looking for would have surfaced. However, with the Sessions-Huber communication falling outside the FOIA request window, the DOJ response was delayed until yesterday.

It is not a statement. It is a question. I would like an answer to that, too. And Johnny Miller doesn’t count.
We only know about this secret investigation now because of a FOIA. Something is going down.
Nothing is going down. Mueller had perjury traps, indictments and plea deals in months. It’s been over two years since these Democrat crimes where committed. Nothing is going to happen because as with the tea party IRS scandal the GOP is just fine with Democrats assaulting POTUS and his supporters. Sorry.
Apparently Huber been sitting on his hands. He should be removed forthwith and an Trump loyalist should replace him, such as Whitaker.
Not to mention hes an ambitious guy in the Mormon hierarchy. How many Mormons are NOT NeverTrumpers?
Of course. Look how ruthlessly Hatch was kicked to the curb to make room for Mittens. The progressive corportist open borders flavor of “conservatism” that Mormons ascribe to will be the death of this country.
It is a statement posed as a question.
It’s a stupid one, too, unless you have the answer which I know you don’t. You’re saying that all Mormons are Anti-Trumpers.
I detest Romney but I’m not going to equate all Mormons with him.
Huber isnt doing squat.
Never was hired to do squat.
Sessions hired him to take the pressure off demands
to appoint a Special Council.
It was nothing more than a slight of hand by Sessions.
Sessions is gone. He recused himself and then told Huber to review and report "as appropriate" to the corrupt and compromised DAG, Rosenstein.
What do you think Rosenstein did with any Huber recommendations?
It was nothing more than a slight of hand by Sessions.
Wasn’t any slight of hand about it. It was an obvious run out the clock move and everybody knew it.
Sorry, I didn’t mean for my post 25 to go to you.
Those two couldn’t find water in a thunderstorm.
Huber obviously hired the same crack investigators that OJ did...
There you go, bringing a stack of books and CDs toHelen Keller! But FR has always been a haven for logical fallacies. Just wait and see how things come out in the end, crow is always on the menu for those who open their mouths and remove all doubt.
All pointless and meaningless unless people are getting raided and locked up. So far its only been Trump supporters.
Are you trying to be funny?
There is no secret investigation stated in this letter.
The letter simply states what was made public in the Sessions/Boyd memos to Chariman Goodlatte over a year ago.
How is anyone thinking this means ANYTHING? It’s the original Goodlatte letter from 2017. The only additional document is a non-specific forwarding letter from Sessions, basically saying, “here’s a letter from Congress, please review and report to me or my deputy with recommendations”. Folks really need to take a breath and slow down. There is nothing here but hyperbole.

It shows that Sessions did no more than forward Goodlatte’s letter to Huber with no specific direction or scope, just as reported back in Nov, 2017.
The liberal “whistle blowers” seem concerned about it.
For some reason, there is a large number of Freepers who hope against hope that no Dem will ever go down, and go against all logic and reason to stick to that position.
Typical political pass-the-buck action.
There is no legal reason the DOJ couldn't investigate and prosecute these cases themselves.
The DOJ didn't need an IG to go after Snowden.
Huber was given this to kill any chance of getting to the truth. This was done to avoid the appointment of a Spacial Counsel who would have exposed the spying on the Trump campaign.
